I Won This Round
As soon as Princess Mira said that, everyone present—including Lily Evans—couldn’t help but laugh at her foolishness.
Lily Evans laughed openly, while the others tried to hold it in, clutching their stomachs but not daring to laugh out loud.
Princess Mira only managed to buy Suxin Pavilion thanks to sheer dumb luck. Its value shot up solely because Eight Treasures Bistro across the street made the whole area popular.
Lily Evans giggled, "Princess Mira, if my Eight Treasures Bistro wasn’t doing so well, your Suxin Pavilion would just be a little building tucked away in some forgotten corner."
Princess Mira put her hands on her hips, "Lily Evans, no matter what you say, the value of my Suxin Pavilion has multiplied several times over! You have to admit I’ve got an eye for investment and a knack for business! This round—I win!"
Lily Evans gave Princess Mira a look reserved for idiots, rolled her eyes, dropped the curtain, and signaled the carriage to keep moving down the alley.
Seeing Lily Evans ignore her, Princess Mira panicked, lifted her skirt, dashed downstairs, and chased after the carriage, shouting, “Lily Evans! Did you hear me? This time, I won! Come back and admit defeat! Why are you running? Are you scared?”
But the carriage kept rolling, showing no intention of stopping. Princess Mira ran a few steps, panting, then stopped, eyes wide and muttering, “This time, I won. Lily Evans, you can’t win forever! I finally beat you! Just wait till Suxin Pavilion fetches a high price at auction—I can’t wait to see your face then!”
After saying that, Princess Mira turned and headed back to Suxin Pavilion. The people waiting in line saw her and quickly asked, “Princess, when will you give out the tickets for the auction? How much longer do we have to wait?”
Princess Mira replied, “If I tell you to wait, you wait! Stop whining. Suxin Pavilion isn’t worried about selling out. If you don’t want to wait, leave—there are plenty of people who want to buy!”
One of the men in line, clearly short-tempered, said to Princess Mira, “It’s already winter and freezing out here. Why are you making us wait outside in the cold? There’s only a dozen of us—just give out the tickets and let us go!”
The others, shivering in the cold since early morning, quickly chimed in, “Yeah, it’s not like hundreds are waiting—just a few of us! Just hand out the tickets so we can get home and get to work.”
Princess Mira's face flushed with pride—she absolutely loved seeing a long queue outside her door. Only then could she show off to those across at Eight Treasures Bistro how in-demand Suxin Pavilion was, with so many people eager to buy.
If she handed out the auction tickets all at once, they'd leave—and then who would be left to make Suxin Pavilion look so popular?
The crowd began to stir, especially the hot-tempered man and his servant, who loudly rallied everyone to protest together.
But Princess Mira never cared about anyone else—she just wanted the long line to boost her own prestige, never mind if people were freezing or had other things to do at home.
Now the crowd’s protests only made Princess Mira angrier. She shouted, 'Buy if you want, if not, then get lost!'
Then Princess Mira turned to the servant in charge of ticket distribution and ordered, 'Make them wait—no tickets until they've queued for two hours! If anyone dares to leave, cancel their qualification!'
With that, she patted the dust off her clothes and went inside to warm up, leaving the crowd shivering in the cold, both speechless and furious.
