Demanding Justice

Evan Chu was burning with curiosity, eager to know exactly what rank of monster-beast had produced the egg in his hand.

Since Sword Spirit Luna said it was something good, it had to be a high-level monster-beast—anything she called a treasure was basically heaven-defying, like the Frostbane sword.

"This monster-beast egg most likely comes from a Bloodshadow Berserker Lion. If you can manage to hatch it, it could very well become a true Spirit Beast in the future." Luna said with absolute certainty.

"How can you be so sure? There's no mark on it."

"Even though there's no mark, it carries the aura of a Bloodshadow Berserker Lion. But hatching this monster-beast egg won't be easy, so for now, you'd better not think too much about it."

Evan Chu instantly deflated. If Luna said it wouldn't be easy, then it was definitely hard—but he still couldn't help feeling a bit unwilling.

"Tell me the details. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and actually hatch it."

"Enough spiritual energy and stellar force might do the trick. You see how the egg's surface looks smooth? It's actually half-petrified. If I'm not mistaken, this monster-beast egg has been around for at least five hundred years."

Think about it—five hundred years and it still hasn't hatched. Do you really think you could pull it off overnight? You should focus on absorbing more stellar force and get ready for the upcoming family competition instead," Luna said helplessly.

Evan Chu had nothing to say at that moment. Just thinking about five hundred years was terrifying enough.

He thought he’d picked up a treasure, but it turned out to be useless. Evan casually tossed the monster-beast egg onto the table and stopped caring about it.

Evan Chu had nothing to do, but outside, chaos was erupting. After Liam Liu got home, he exaggerated how Evan had humiliated him and killed his attendants, telling the whole story to his father Harold Liu.

In terms of strength, the Liu Family ranks among the top three of the Five Great Families. When Harold Liu heard his son had been bullied, he flew into a rage.

As the saying goes, even a dog has its master—let alone his own son. The deaths of a few servants could be overlooked for the sake of noble family ties, since no one wants to make enemies over trivial matters.

But now, his pride had been trampled on directly. Harold Liu just couldn't swallow this humiliation, and hearing that Evan was a well-known family 'waste' only made him more relentless.

So he led dozens of Liu Family members, storming angrily to the Chu estate to settle the score with Evan Chu.

After days of training, Evan was just about to lie down for a nap when urgent knocking sounded at his door.

Then Lily Lin’s anxious voice came through: "Second Young Master, something’s wrong! The Liu Family patriarch has brought a crowd to our estate and is calling for you by name to come out and explain yourself. They say you killed his Liu Family men!"

Evan frowned when he heard this. "That damned waste actually brought people to cause trouble. If I’d known, I would’ve killed him on the spot. I held back last time to avoid making trouble for the family—looks like it was all for nothing."

Evan stepped out of his room and headed straight for the main gate. He hadn’t even arrived yet when the other side’s arrogant shouting reached his ears.

"Dominic Chu, if you don't give me an explanation today, I'll wipe out your Chu Family!" That tone could only belong to Harold Liu, the Liu Family patriarch.

"Wipe out my Chu Family? You and your Liu Family? Harold Liu, don't talk crap in front of me. I'm not so easily scared—if you've got the guts, bring it on!" Dominic Chu wasn't one to back down either.

They'd been bullied all the way to their doorstep—if he didn't fight back now, he'd be utterly spineless. Dominic didn't know why Evan had killed those Liu Family servants, but he was sure there was a good reason.

Evan Chu wasn't an impulsive kid—Dominic had seen his self-control firsthand. Even so, he secretly hoped Evan wouldn't show up, since the other side's strength was about equal and the outcome was up in the air.

At that moment, a middle-aged man beside Harold Liu was whispering something in his ear—clearly offering advice.

Harold Liu's expression kept shifting. "Hand over your son and let him give our Liu Family an explanation. If you do, this ends here. If not, Flowing Cloud City will lose a great clan today."

His tone had clearly softened, obviously because of the middle-aged man's advice—he must have his own concerns.

If two sides fight, a third party profits—he couldn't risk a full-blown clan crisis just for his useless son.

Evan Chu arrived at that moment. "Young master me is here—what kind of explanation do you want from me?"

Dominic Chu frowned slightly. "Evan, what exactly happened? Why has the Liu Family come to our Chu Family demanding answers?"

"Father, all I did today was rid the city of a menace. But some people blindly protect their own, coming here to bite without asking the facts—I can't help that." Evan Chu's eyes flashed like lightning as he stared at Liam Liu in the distance.

"Evan Chu, you killed my attendants and still dare to boast? Today, you must die!" With his family backing him, Liam Liu was arrogant again.

"Who was it groveling like a dog, begging me for mercy? Are you brain-damaged or something? You bully and oppress the people, and there's no end to your evil deeds.

If you weren't a noble clan's son, I'd have killed you long ago. You wouldn't be here to bark today." Evan's anger flared, ignoring whatever the Liu clan thought.

Everyone knew what Liam Liu was like. Harold Liu felt his old face burning with embarrassment.

"I heard you're called 'trash,' yet you killed three men in an instant. If you're so capable, then fight my son Wolf Liu.

If you can beat him, today's matter is settled. If he kills you, don't blame the Liu Family for bullying you."

Wolf Liu was Harold Liu's eldest son, already eighteen years old. He'd broken through to the sixth level of the Xuanwu Realm a year ago, and now was likely close to the seventh.

Harold Liu deliberately named Wolf Liu as Evan's opponent, confident that Wolf's strength surpassed Evan Chu's.

"Despicable!" Dominic Chu cursed inwardly—this was clearly a ploy to take Evan's life.
