Alexander Hayes's Schadenfreude

Li Yanhao said as he walked inside. The village chief hurriedly stood up, terrified, wanting to kneel and kowtow.

Li Yanhao helped the old village chief up and said, "No, no, please don't kneel to me! If you kneel, Ali will surely kick me out of the house!"

Su Li chuckled, "Am I really that fierce?"

"You are!" Li Yanhao pressed the village chief down onto a stool and sat himself at the table, crossing his legs and staring at Su Li, feeling delighted inside.

Recently, that rustic fellow has been so busy he hasn't come to bother him. Finally, he has a chance to get close to his beloved Ali!

"Young lord, what brings you here? Are you craving some new dishes?" Su Li smiled at Li Yanhao. This guy is so unserious, yet he claims to be a royal relative!

"Hehe!" Li Yanhao gave a look that said, "You really understand me." But suddenly, his gaze landed on the red mark on Su Li's neck, and he nearly fell off his stool as if shocked by electricity.

"Young lord, are you okay?" Su Li hurriedly asked when she saw Li Yanhao almost fall.

"I... Ali..." Li Yanhao quickly steadied himself by holding the stool, but his mind was a tangled mess.

Although he wasn’t the type to fool around, he recognized the red mark on Su Li’s neck—it could only mean one thing...

Li Yanhao suddenly looked up and glanced at Xiao Zetian sitting next to Su Li.

Xiao Zetian wore a half-smile, his eyes full of provocation as he looked at Li Yanhao, as if the red mark on Su Li’s neck was his declaration of ownership: Ali is my wife. Though we haven’t consummated our marriage, we have skinship. Li Yanhao, give up!

Li Yanhao immediately understood why Xiao Zetian hadn’t caused any trouble or chased him away since he entered—the guy was acting with impunity!

The young lord’s heart felt suffocated, as if ten thousand ants were crawling on it—he felt lost, hurt, and deeply pained.

A young lord and a supreme general locked eyes in the small farmhouse hall. Sparks flew between them, and even Su Li sensed the tension.

"Yuanbao?" Su Li looked at Xiao Zetian with a puzzled expression.

Xiao Zetian immediately switched to a goofy, cute expression and leaned over: "Wifey, I’m here!"

Su Li looked and saw Yuanbao was still the same. Could it be she just imagined it?

Because of Li Yanhao’s presence, the village chief felt uncomfortable. With such a noble young lord here, a humble villager like him couldn’t bear to sit at the same table and quickly took his leave.

"Ah, you scared Grandpa Village Chief away," Su Li pouted, looking at Li Yanhao with disdain. "Next time we have guests, you’re not allowed to come and scare them off."

Xiao Zetian immediately laughed smugly behind Su Li, while Li Yanhao’s face flushed red: "How am I scaring people? Do I have eight eyes or something?"

Su Li snorted and rolled her eyes: "Anyway, you’re just not allowed to scare away my guests in the future."

Li Yanhao immediately deflated, hanging his head in utter defeat.

He didn’t want to scare the village chief away, and he felt helpless. Who did he offend to be treated with such disdain?

Su Li took Bailu and went off to discuss the specifics of the funding, leaving Xiao Zetian and Li Yanhao behind.

Li Yanhao glared at Xiao Zetian: "Don’t gloat. I’m just a spoiled young lord, but you’re the famous war god general known throughout the dynasty. If the villagers knew your identity, they’d probably be scared under the table! Just keep it a secret, or wait until Ali settles the score with you!"
