"Primordial Spirit Conference?"
Black Tiger God looked puzzled—he’d never heard the term before. Serena Yunxiang pulled out a thick stack of blueprints and spread them out on the city tower; each page was covered in rune marks and sigils.
"This is a technique jointly developed by the Cult Master and Everpeace’s divine arts experts, personally named by the Emperor as the Tri‑Source Spirit Conference Art."
Serena searched for a moment, found Quinn Shepherd’s Primordial Spirit imprint, then took out cinnabar and a brush. She ground the cinnabar and painted Quinn’s imprint onto a pillar in the city tower. “The Cult Master once branded everyone’s Primordial Spirit imprint in the Grand Academy Hall—including his own. The Primordial Spirit Conference works by using these imprints to attract a person’s Primordial Spirit, gathering everyone’s spirits to confer.”
Lynn Ling took out a stick of incense, set it beneath the painted imprint, and lit it. "This incense was made by the Cowherd using the Soul-Guiding Incense technique. It’s meant to draw out the Primordial Spirit. We plan to use it together with the imprint to sense his spirit and pull him here, so we can ask about his whereabouts."
The two girls exchanged a glance. Serena Yunxiang released her yuanqi, lighting up Quinn’s Primordial Spirit imprint, while Lynn Ling wrapped the incense smoke with her own qi and channeled it into the rune mark.
Everyone in the tower waited quietly, watching the Soul-Guiding Incense burn. Its smoke curled faintly upward, the scent light and barely noticeable.
A stick of incense doesn’t burn for long. As the Soul-Guiding Incense slowly burned down, everyone grew uneasy. The imprint and incense were supposed to resonate with Quinn Shepherd’s Primordial Spirit; if he activated the Tri‑Source Spirit Conference Art, he’d be able to project himself here and meet them.
But if something has happened to Quinn, he won’t be able to join them.
When the incense was more than halfway burned and still nothing had happened, everyone grew anxious. Suddenly, a gust of wind swept into the city tower.
