"Ryan Ouyang, don't act like you don't know what's good for you. If it weren't for Boss, you'd be dead and buried long ago. Yet here you are throwing shade—I'm honestly embarrassed for you!" Gus Bullard couldn't take it anymore and snapped angrily.
"Dead cow, what are you yelling about? Want me to skin you alive?" Ryan Ouyang shot back, furious.
"Like I'm scared of you? Why don't we see right now who skins who!" Gus's temper flared—being called 'dead cow' was just too much.
At that moment, Rhea Yang and Lily Tang walked over, amused by the scene. Rhea said, "Quit messing around, you guys. Sea Dragon Academy could show up any minute—let's get ready instead.
Whatever grudges you have can wait until we're back at Heavenly Dragon Academy. Starting an internal fight here is just ridiculous—seriously, I'm speechless!"
Evan Chu shot Rhea Yang a satisfied look, then said, "Ryan Ouyang, if being my little brother feels humiliating, I won't force you. Whenever you think you're stronger than me, you're welcome to challenge me.
But now isn't the time to fight over this. Sure, we've got our issues, but it's not like we're out for each other's lives. This isn't the Life-and-Death Platform. If you've got energy to spare, use it to kill more Sea Dragon Academy scum instead."
Ryan Ouyang shot Evan a glare, then turned to leave. As he left, he called out, "Don't forget what you said today—I'll challenge you!"
Evan couldn't help but find it funny. Someday you'll accept being my brother. Sure, we've got our differences, but with time, they'll fade away.
Just then, a student came running from afar, panting as he called out to Evan, "Boss, we've got a situation..."
"What's going on?" Evan Chu asked immediately. Judging by his brother's expression, it had to be something urgent—he wouldn't be this flustered otherwise.
The student caught his breath twice before replying, "Boss, about two li ahead, there are dozens of people heading our way. Looks like Sea Dragon Academy students."
Evan laughed, "So what if it's Sea Dragon Academy? Why are you so scared? With your Boss here, what's there to fear? Don't embarrass me!"
The student blushed at Evan's words but didn't dare talk back, just muttered quietly, "Got it, Boss. Won't happen again."
Evan sounded relaxed, but inside he was anything but calm. Drawing the Extinction Heaven Demon Sword had burned through too much Chaos Qi—and Chaos Qi isn't like star force, you can't just absorb Starstones and recover instantly.
It has to be converted slowly. Sure, it's way more powerful than star force, but it's so much slower to replenish. Every advantage comes with a drawback.
Just then, Lily Tang and Rhea Yang walked over. Lily noticed Evan's pale face and whispered, "Lin Feng, I think we should hide out for a while. In your current state, it's tough to handle this!"
Evan knew exactly what Lily meant. He gently stroked her cheek and smiled, "You think your man is afraid of trouble? Even if every last Sea Dragon Academy student showed up, I wouldn't flinch."
Rhea frowned slightly. Evan always did things his own way—never followed the rules, never thought about consequences, or how those around him felt. She loved and hated that about him.
"Lin Feng, don't be reckless. Lily's right—we should hide and see how things play out. If we're outmatched, we can always retreat. Don't gamble with your brothers' lives. Don't forget how many people are counting on you," Rhea urged.
Maybe only Lily Tang and Rhea Yang had the right to lecture Evan Chu—after all, both girls were basically his women. Even if they hadn't crossed that final line yet, everyone already saw it that way.
"We listen to Boss! If Boss says fight, we fight—even if it means dying!" one student shouted.
The whole group echoed him in unison, their blood boiling with excitement. Evan felt genuinely gratified by their loyalty.
"Alright, quiet down. Since I'm your Boss, I won't let anything happen to you. Relax—if Sea Dragon Academy dares show up, we'll wipe them out. And don't forget, we've got a trump card!" Evan grinned.
"Trump card? What trump card, Boss?" Simon Driftwind asked curiously from the west side.
Evan rolled his eyes and said, "Don't tell me you've forgotten about my flying monster-beast little brother. With him here, even a hundred more enemies would just be marching to their deaths."
"Goldwing!" a student immediately caught on and burst out laughing with joy.
With a freak like Goldwing on their side, there really wasn't much to worry about. Everyone felt a lot more at ease.
"Don't get too happy yet, Lin Feng. Who knows where your flying little brother is right now? What if he doesn't show up?" Rhea Yang immediately pointed out. She was sharp as ever, not blinded by the moment's excitement.
Evan had already considered that. With Goldwing's speed, he should have finished looking for Roxanne Lin and be on his way back. He figured Goldwing would return within an hour, and if it really came down to a fight, they could hold out that long.
"Have a little faith in your man. Look at Lily Tang—she's not saying a word. You should learn from her!" Evan teased.
"Please! Like I don't know what you're up to. Save it—I’m not falling for that!" Rhea shot Evan a glare and stormed off.
Lily didn't say much—she just chased after Rhea. "We really need to rein this guy in, or we'll never have a peaceful day," she said.
"Yeah, let's wait for Roxanne to show up. He needs a real lesson—so arrogant, it's ridiculous," Rhea agreed wholeheartedly.
"Even if we're going to wipe them out, we should hide first and hit them with a surprise attack. It's smarter to fight from rest than charge in headfirst!" Gabe Goldstone suggested, stepping up to Evan.
Evan didn't argue—Gabe was right. He turned to the group and said, "Everyone, hide yourselves quick. When Sea Dragon Academy shows up, we'll hit them with a sneak attack."
As soon as Evan finished speaking, the group scattered. In less than a minute, they were gone—only Gabe, and Rhea and Lily in the distance, remained.
"You two should hide too. I'll wait here alone and see if I can get some intel from these guys," Evan said.
"Be careful. If things get dangerous, fall back fast—we won't mock you for it!" Rhea said with a smile.
"What, your skin itching for a massage? Want your man to give you one? My technique is one-of-a-kind—guaranteed you'll never forget it. Once you try it, you'll want more, and after that..."
"Go die! You're disgusting!" Rhea snapped, cutting Evan off. Seeing Rhea's furious face, Evan burst out laughing.
After that, the three of them found places to hide. Evan just lay down on the grass, chatting with Sword Spirit Luna, while a squad of about fifty Sea Dragon Academy students rushed toward his position...
