"A visitor from Carefree Haven?"
Grandpa Blind and the Mute Smith exchanged a glance, not as enthusiastic as the Pioneer Emperor had expected.
In fact, while Quinn Shepherd had always wanted to find Carefree Haven, for the other Oldridge Village elders, if not for Quinn's sake, they couldn't care less where Carefree Haven was.
Especially the Mute Smith—he was a descendant of the Heaven-Craft Clan, whose ancestors built the Other Shore Ark. He was a descendant of Indra King Buddha, Lee Youran. But at the end of the Pioneer Era, the Pioneer Emperor led a group to Carefree Haven. The Heaven-Craft Clan forged another Other Shore Ark, but before they could reach Carefree Haven, they were massacred by the Heavenly Court's armies.
The surviving Heaven-Craft Clan were trapped inside a three-dimensional spatial seal, struggling to survive. By the time of the Mute Smith's generation, only he remained.
In the end, before dying, the Mute Smith's parents sent him—still a child—out of the seal, leaving him to face the darkness and dangers of the Great Ruins alone.
The Mute Smith was the least fond of Carefree Haven. The Other Shore Ark had always been in the Great Ruins, but he never considered repairing it to go to Carefree Haven. No matter how hard his own life was, that thought never crossed his mind.
"You're from Carefree Haven? Now that's rare. Before the Everpeace Cataclysm, there was another visitor from Carefree Haven—Celestial Teacher Ethan. She was a master of formations, and I learned a lot from her."
Grandpa Blind said, "But when the Everpeace Cataclysm broke out, the Pioneer Emperor issued a single decree, and she took all the gods of the Pioneer Era and ran off, leaving us to face the disaster alone. You're from Carefree Haven—are you here to deliver some order from the Pioneer Emperor?"
The Pioneer Emperor shook his head and said, "Celestial Teacher Ethan has returned to Carefree Haven. I only heard her mention the Everpeace Reform, so I came to see it for myself."
