The Patriarch Appears

Seeing the soul drifting out, Evan Yang wasted no time and sealed it. The crowd erupted in shock—Evan had not only defeated Darren West, who was several realms above him, but also revealed dual attributes. Even the crazed Darren was completely subdued by Evan.

With Darren West dead, only his soul remained. The Wine Beggar was overjoyed and asked, "So how is the outcome counted now?"

Elder Pineleaf wanted to argue but had no grounds. He hadn’t expected Evan Yang to handle the crazed Darren West so easily—it was beyond his imagination. But there was no way he would simply let Evan go; he seized the opportunity to stir trouble and coldly snorted, "He dared to kill!"

“Elder Pineleaf, what do you mean by this?” the Wine Beggar demanded.

“He killed my disciple. I’ll use him as a sacrifice for my disciple,” Elder Pineleaf snorted, then flashed beside Evan Yang, attempting to kill him in one move.

Wine Beggar, Lydia Yang, Steward Lewis Yang, and the others looked shocked, unable to intercept Elder Pineleaf in time. The crowd fell silent, convinced Evan Yang was doomed. Evan hadn’t expected Elder Pineleaf to use this as an excuse to kill him, planning to claim Evan had killed his disciple afterward.

Evan Yang wasn’t foolish, but his opponent was simply too strong. He was already locked in place—Elder Pineleaf’s qi barrier prevented even his invisibility skill.

“Am I really about to be destroyed?” Evan Yang realized his whole body was immobilized, as if Elder Pineleaf had used some special technique against him.

“Quick, unleash your qi and break the barrier!” Lydia Yang shouted. If Evan Yang could move, he could turn invisible—this was all she could do at the moment.

Evan Yang heard her and quickly unleashed his qi. As soon as the barrier loosened, he regained mobility—so this was how to break it. But Elder Pineleaf was already right in front of him, dangerously close. It looked like Evan would die any second, and the crowd was stunned.

Just as Terry Yang and the others were about to breathe a sigh of relief, everyone suddenly saw a figure appear, stepping right in front of Evan Yang and sending Elder Pineleaf flying with a single palm.

Elder Pineleaf was about to curse, but when he saw the newcomer, his expression changed to shock. “Patriarch!”

When those two words were spoken, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at the man in front of Evan Yang. Evan himself looked at the figure, feeling both awe and unfamiliarity.

“Elder Pineleaf, don’t you think you’re being a bit excessive using such force against a Profound-Immortal junior?” Patriarch Raymond Yang asked.

Patriarch Raymond Yang, the Yang Clan leader and Liam Yang’s father, had witnessed the whole process. At the critical moment, he revealed himself early to protect Evan Yang.

Elder Pineleaf hadn’t expected the Patriarch to appear so quickly. He hurried to find an excuse, saying, “Patriarch, he killed my disciple.” “Killed your disciple? That was because your disciple fell into qi deviation—everyone saw it, didn’t they?” Patriarch Raymond Yang’s words left Elder Pineleaf unable to argue.

The surrounding people snapped out of it, all looking at Patriarch Raymond Yang with respect.

Lydia Yang, the Wine Beggar, and others smiled, curious as to why their father had come out early. Terry Yang and his parents were also puzzled by the Patriarch’s early appearance.

Seeing Elder Pineleaf silent, Patriarch Raymond Yang looked around and said, “I know everyone is confused and wants to know if he’s really my grandson.”

“Patriarch, no one can prove he is the Second Young Master’s child. Please judge wisely,” Elder Pineleaf said.
