The Influence of the Nangong Family

1/11/2026

Before joining the security company, all eight drivers were retired soldiers skilled in combat. Working together, they targeted vicious weak spots, so in their eyes, taking down Ian Song would be a piece of cake.

Unfortunately for them, Ian Song let them down.

The moment they attacked, Ian Song darted out like a leopard. With Tiger-Leap Step fused into his Intermediate Combat Arts, his movements became even more agile and his speed even faster.

"Bang! Bang!"

Two drivers saw only a blur before they felt as if a speeding train had slammed into their chests. Their bodies shot through the air like broken kites, crashing down four meters away.

After sending two drivers flying, Ian had opened a gap in the encirclement. But instead of escaping through it, he suddenly spun around and unleashed a spinning kick.

"Bang! Bang!"

Again, two more drivers went flying.

Though it takes several sentences to describe, the whole process happened in just two seconds—Ian Song's movements were unbelievably fast.

Seeing four of their teammates knocked down, the remaining four drivers hesitated, their bodies instinctively pausing in fear.

But Ian Song had no intention of letting them off.

His body darted out again.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The sounds of impact came almost at the same time. The remaining four drivers followed in their teammates' footsteps—knocked down by Ian Song, crashing to the ground and unable to get up.

The other side had the numbers, and with Hannah Han nearby, Ian Song didn't dare hold back. Except for not using inner force, he was already fighting with everything he had.

Five seconds.

All eight tall, muscular men were knocked down by Ian Song. Witnessing this, the surrounding students couldn't help showing shock and admiration.

Meanwhile, Justin Nangong's face grew especially dark, his eyes flickering with icy killing intent.

"Whoosh!"

Ian Song turned his gaze to Justin Nangong, locking eyes with the man's murderous glare.

With that, he stepped forward toward Justin Nangong.

"Kid, I admit you're pretty tough, but you've just pushed yourself into a place of no return! No one dares defy me, and no one dares beat my men!" Justin Nangong glared at Ian Song.

"Smack!"

Ian Song swung a slap, leaving five bright red finger marks on Justin Nangong's face.

"Damn, that felt good! Way to go, Ian Song!" In the crowd, Zach Zhang was flushed with excitement, as if he himself had landed the slap on Justin Nangong.

Justin Nangong clutched his face, staring at Ian Song in disbelief. He couldn't believe Ian dared to slap him, but the burning pain reminded him it was real. Rage and murderous intent surged in his chest, twisting his handsome features. He pointed at Ian and shouted, "You dare hit me? Do you know who I am?"

"Smack!"

Ian Song didn't say a word and swung another slap.

Instantly, five bright red finger marks appeared on Justin Nangong's other cheek.

"Bastard, I'm going to kill you!"

Justin Nangong was nearly driven mad with rage. He lunged at Ian Song, baring his teeth and claws, only to be met with two more vicious slaps.

"Smack! Smack!"

The crisp, loud slaps silenced the crowd. After this, students who knew the city’s power structure started explaining Justin Nangong’s identity: Riverstone’s number one wastrel, the only male heir of the Nangong Family!

But now, this infamous playboy was being slapped senseless by a student from their own school. Everyone felt a strange rush of satisfaction and excitement, though some secretly worried for Ian Song—messing with the Nangong Family was no joke. Would Ian end up ruined, his family destroyed for hitting Justin Nangong?

"I'm going to kill you!"

Ian Song's slaps still hadn't sobered Justin Nangong up. He shouted even louder and charged at Ian again.

Seeing this, a cold light flashed in Ian Song's eyes.

He reached out and grabbed Justin Nangong by the neck, lifting him into the air with a bit of force.

"I don't care about your background or power, but you need to know—if you dare hurt Teacher Hannah Han again, I really will kill you!"

His grip tightened. Justin Nangong felt his breathing grow difficult, his head spinning from lack of oxygen. Fear overwhelmed him—he truly worried Ian Song might kill him in a fit of rage.

"No... don't kill me!"

"Hmph!"

Ian Song loosened his grip, letting Justin Nangong drop to the ground. Justin gasped desperately for air, his face filled with the relief of barely surviving. But soon, hatred and venom surged in his heart. That kid had almost killed him—this grudge was huge!

"I’ll pay you back double—no, ten times, a hundred times over!"

Ignoring Justin Nangong, Ian Song turned to Hannah Han and said softly, "It's over, Teacher Han. I'll take you home."

"Mm." Hannah Han nodded, though the worry on her face only deepened.

The crowd automatically parted, forming a path for Ian Song and Hannah Han to leave.

After they’d walked several hundred meters, Zach Zhang suddenly ran up to them.

"What is it?" Ian Song asked.

"Teacher Han, Ian, you need to run! Get as far away as possible—Justin Nangong never lets go of a grudge!" As he spoke, Zach Zhang pulled out a wad of cash and stuffed it into Ian Song’s hand. "This is just a little token from me." Then he turned to Hannah Han, face full of guilt. "Sorry, Teacher Han, I couldn’t hold out."

"Zach Zhang, I understand—not everyone has the courage to go against the Nangong Family!" Hannah Han said with a sigh.

"Thank you for understanding, Teacher Han!" Zach Zhang’s gaze grew complicated as he looked at Ian Song. "Ian, I was the one who arranged for someone to put feces in William Yan’s drawer. I did it because I was jealous of you and wanted to frame you. I’m sorry."

Then Zach Zhang bowed deeply to Ian Song.

Ian Song was stunned, then smiled. "It’s all in the past. It’s fine. Besides, I wasn’t really hurt by it."

"Thank you," Zach Zhang said gratefully. But then he warned, "You need to run as soon as possible. And you should notify your family—have them leave the city too!"

"Is it really that serious?" Ian Song asked in a low voice.

"Ian, it truly is serious," Hannah Han interjected, her expression grave. "Zach’s right. We have to run—otherwise, not only you and I will suffer the Nangong Family’s revenge, but even your family will be dragged into it!"

Ian Song fell silent. After a moment, he said to Hannah Han, "Let me make a call first."

He dialed his uncle Stephen Song and told him everything that had just happened, hiding nothing.

He thought his uncle would be furious, but Stephen Song’s voice was calm: "Ian, it’s not as serious as you think. Just go home and stay there—don’t go anywhere else. Leave this to me."

"Thank you, Uncle." Ian Song said gratefully. Suddenly, he thought of something and asked, "Uncle, what about Teacher Han?"

This time, Stephen Song was silent for a moment before replying, "Invite her to our home as a guest. That’s all for now. Hurry home—don’t stay outside any longer!"
