On the way to school, Evan Lin walked with a backpack slung over his shoulder, looking totally laid-back.
"Did you learn kung fu before?"
Yolanda Fang found it hard to connect the skinny-looking Evan beside her with the Evan who’d gone full beast mode at Imperial Grand KTV last night.
If Evan’s left hand wasn’t still wrapped in gauze, Yolanda might’ve doubted her own memory.
"You could say that."
"What do you mean ‘could say that’? Either you did or you didn’t."
Yolanda eyed Evan, her curiosity growing.
Evan glanced at Yolanda. "Why are you so nosy? Just pretend last night never happened."
"No way. No matter what, you saved me last night. I owe you one. And if there’s one thing I hate, it’s owing people favors. So, make a wish—any little thing. I’ll help you out, consider the debt paid."
Yolanda looked dead serious, refusing to take no for an answer.
Ever since they’d left Lynn Chen’s house, Yolanda’s true colors started to show.
At school, she was known for stirring things up—not as wild as those delinquent girls who got passed around, but still a proud little vixen.
Evan felt a headache coming on.
"I know, you like Lynn, don’t you? I can set you up, get you all the inside info—her schedule, her hobbies, whatever. I got you covered."
"Really?"
"Of course!"
"I want Lynn Chen’s nudes. Can you do that?"
...
Yolanda was getting frustrated, more confused than ever about Evan.
All the way to school, Yolanda kept trying to dig for info about Evan, but he always changed the subject. She was left grinding her teeth in helpless annoyance.
Just before reaching the school gate, Yolanda had something to do, so after asking Evan for his name and class, she split off from him.
Brightsea No. 2 High School, at the main entrance.
Most students took a wide detour, whispering as they eyed the group standing at the gate.
"Isn’t that Trevor Liu? What happened to his nose?"
"He brought so many people. Whoever’s unlucky enough to cross him today is screwed."
"Even Sean Sun is here—man, whoever pissed off Trevor Liu is doomed. Of all the people, why pick a fight with him?"
"I heard it’s because some guy tried to hit on Mia Chen…"
Trevor Liu stood at the school gate with a bandage on his nose, his expression gloomy. Behind him were over a dozen burly PE students, exuding an intimidating aura.
Hearing the whispers nearby, Trevor’s face darkened. He turned and shouted, "What the hell are you yapping about? Don’t you have class? Get lost!"
The students who’d been whispering immediately paled, ducked their heads, and hurried off, afraid Trevor would hold a grudge.
Yesterday, Evan Lin had stomped Trevor’s nose crooked, leaving him utterly humiliated.
"Trevor, when’s that kid you mentioned supposed to show up?"
The guy next to Trevor wore a loose T-shirt, chewing gum and looking like a total punk.
His arms were all muscle—years of training had given him explosive power.
"Should be any minute now. Fei-ge, you gotta teach him a lesson for me!"
Trevor said viciously.
Fei-ge’s real name was Sean Sun, one of Tyson Liu’s top enforcers.
Whenever Sean Sun threw down, he was always the most ruthless.
"Don’t worry. You’re Tyson Liu’s little brother, which makes you my little bro too. If anyone bullies you, I’ll make sure they pay."
Sean Sun swore up and down.
"He’s here!"
Trevor Liu glared, teeth clenched, at Evan Lin, who was strolling calmly down the street.
Evan walked with his backpack, looking completely relaxed, not the least bit aware he was being ambushed.
"Evan Lin, you actually dare show up at school today!"
Trevor stepped forward, voice cold as ice: "Today you’ll learn what regret really means. Even if you beg on your knees, it won’t help!"
"So you’re the one who messed Trevor up?"
Sean Sun stepped forward, gave Evan a once-over, and sneered.
Evan looked so scrawny, Sean figured he could knock him out with one punch.
"Yeah, that was me. All of you, come at me together."
Evan smiled faintly, his tone calm and unruffled.
All at once?
Sean Sun froze for a second, then burst out laughing. "Damn kid, you’re cocky! Don’t worry, I never gang up on people—besides, dealing with you, I’m all it takes."
With that, Sean Sun’s face turned serious. He lunged forward, swinging a slap straight at Evan’s face.
Smack!
A crisp sound echoed through the air.
Trevor Liu’s eyes went wide, and most of the crowd hadn’t even seen what happened.
Sean Sun just stood there, dumbfounded, feeling the right side of his face go numb.
"What just happened?"
"Didn’t catch it. I think Sean Sun got slapped?"
"Was it Sean Sun who got slapped?"
The students watching nearby started buzzing with chatter.
Sean Sun couldn’t keep his cool, staring blankly at Evan.
Evan just smiled lightly, looking like he hadn’t done a thing. In reality, he’d slapped Sean Sun the instant Sean lifted his hand.
That slap was fast, precise, and brutal, leaving Sean Sun totally dazed.
"You dare hit me?"
Sean Sun snapped out of it, furious. He cursed and tried to kick Evan.
Bang.
Suddenly, the whole crowd went silent.
Sean Sun crashed to the ground, head down, butt in the air.
In that instant, Evan had kicked Sean Sun’s right calf, throwing him off balance and sending him sprawling.
But thanks to the angle, none of the students around saw exactly what happened.
Sean Sun’s head hit the ground, and he still hadn’t gotten up. The impact left him dazed, mumbling under his breath.
He really hadn’t seen what Evan did—Sean couldn’t believe a scrawny kid like that could take him down so easily!

Sean Sun was one of the top fighters in Brightsea City’s high schools!
Getting wrecked like this?
He tried to get up, but as soon as his back arched, Evan smiled and swept his gaze over the crowd Trevor Liu had brought. Then, with a casual step, Evan planted his foot squarely on Sean Sun’s back, forcing him flat to the ground.
"Any of you want some?"
Evan’s words oozed confidence, the vibe of a true master.
"Get him!"
Facing Evan’s relaxed smile, Trevor Liu felt a chill run down his spine.
The dozen or so students behind Trevor exchanged glances. Then someone shouted, "Let go of Fei-ge!"
All at once, the whole group charged at Evan.
It was quite the spectacle.
Evan met the rush head-on.
Diving into the crowd, Evan was like a wolf in a flock of sheep.
Every punch landed perfectly, dropping one guy after another.
"Holy crap, is he some kind of kung fu master from a Jackie Chan movie?"
"Damn, are we filming a movie here or what?"
The onlookers watched as Trevor’s crew rushed Evan, only to get launched in all directions like chaos unleashed.
Soon, Evan stood at the center, surrounded by rings of bodies lying everywhere.
"Damn it!"
Flat on the ground, Sean Sun finally came to his senses. Seeing his buddies get wrecked, he cursed furiously and tried to get up.
He’d barely made it halfway up when he suddenly felt his butt clench in alarm.
Evan fired off a perfect soccer kick, his toe landing square on Sean Sun’s rear. Sean couldn’t help but yelp, flying a meter forward, face-down on the ground again.
This time, Sean Sun’s lower body shook violently—he was clearly in agony.
"You… you stay away from me!"
Seeing things go south, Trevor Liu panicked, spun around, and ran for it.
Evan didn’t chase him. Instead, he bent down, grabbed a sneaker off a wailing student, tossed it lightly, and then kicked it with pinpoint accuracy.
The sneaker arced perfectly through the air and smacked Trevor Liu on the back of the head.
Trevor Liu yelped, lost his balance, and toppled to the ground.
"Yesterday’s beatdown was just a friendly warning, but you took my kindness for weakness. Trevor Liu, right? Later, you’ll run three laps around the school track, shouting ‘I love bananas, bananas make me happy’ the whole way. Do that and we’re square. Skip it, and you’ll find out what regret really means."
Evan stood beside Trevor, grabbing his hair with one hand, a faint smile on his face.
But to Trevor, that sunny smile looked downright demonic.
Not far from the school gate, at the intersection...
A BMW X6 with license plate Ming A12345 pulled up.
The door opened, and out stepped a slender, fair leg.
Her crystal-clear skin glowed faintly in the morning sun.
It was the kind of skin you’d call porcelain-smooth.
The girl stepped out: long legs, pale blue shirt, white pleated skirt, white canvas shoes, and a single ponytail.
Her features were exquisite—bare-faced, yet she could outshine any celebrity on screen.
And the curves hidden beneath her clothes were enough to make anyone’s mouth water.
Honestly, with a girl like her, what more could a man ask for?
She was the kind of woman worth fighting for—a beauty who, given time, would become a legendary femme fatale.
Lulu Ran stepped out of the car and headed straight for the school, barely glancing at the scene. She did, however, shoot a fleeting look of disdain at Evan, who was still gripping Trevor’s hair.
"Wow, Lulu Ran is gorgeous!"
"Can’t believe I actually get to see Lulu Ran today!"
"Oh my god, she’s stunning."
The guys looked at Lulu Ran with admiration and a hint of lust, while the girls either envied or admired her.
"So that’s Lulu Ran."
Evan let go of Trevor’s hair and muttered to himself.
Lulu Ran’s arrival drew most of the attention away from Evan.
Not until Lulu Ran’s figure disappeared into the school building did the students at the gate finally look away—only to realize that at some point, the guy who’d just taken on a whole group had vanished.
And so, Evan’s reputation as a one-man army began to spread throughout the school.
