Four Directions Converge

"On behalf of Li family head Li Aiden, I am here to invite you to the Jared Qian Auction venue. Tonight happens to be the final round of our River City Underground Boxing King Championship."

There are three main cities in Seacrest Prefecture.

They are Sunrise City, River City, and Brightsea City.

Among them, River City stands above the rest. Whether in terms of economy or geography, River City has always held the most privileged position.

Each of the three cities has its own underground boxing rules.

In Sunrise City, the tournaments are hosted by the Ding family, who use them to scout talent and recruit experts into their ranks.

Brightsea City's tournaments are jointly hosted by three families, all fighting for territory.

River City's tournaments are run by the Li family. However, for the past few years, the events were suspended because Li Aiden had been away from the city.

It was only a few weeks ago that the championship suddenly resumed, drawing in a crowd of top fighters.

Among them, one masked fighter stands out above all—a pair of iron fists and a body like bronze and steel, undefeated and with a legendary record. Some even say that if Drake Huang were still alive, he might not be able to match him.

The elderly man finished speaking with a slight smile, looking at Evan Lin without hurry as he continued, "As it happens, tonight's fight has brought together all the major families of River City—not just the Summers, but also the Wangs and the Lius."

"I heard you're on good terms with Summer Mu of the Summers and Rachel Liu of the Lius, right?"

The old man spoke lightly, as if offhandedly: "They're all at the Jared Qian Auction tonight. I wonder, Mr. Lin, are you interested in going together? You can bring your friends as well."

After speaking, the old man quietly watched Evan.

"Sir, I have a bad feeling about this," Shawn Shi leaned in beside Evan and whispered.

"Li Aiden, River City's richest man, doesn't have a good reputation. It's said he's a real ruthless type—the kind of guy who could even kill his own parents if it suited him. Calling him 'cruel' doesn't even cover it."

Just mentioning Li Aiden made Shawn's tone a little uneasy.

But even so, he still trusted Evan 'Nine-Mysteries' Lin more.

Strength rules all—might makes right.

Anyone who could kill a Medicine King Valley elder without hesitation wouldn't back down from Li Aiden.

"Mm."

Evan nodded calmly, then turned to Jill Jing behind him: "You coming along, or going home to do your homework?"

"I'm coming to watch!"

Jill had been quietly listening to everything, but when Evan asked, her eyes lit up and she shouted her answer.

"Then let's go together."

After speaking, Evan headed straight for one of the Mercedes S600s parked nearby.

The five of them split into two cars.

Soon, everyone was in, and the cars spun around and sped off toward the Jared Qian Auction.

The Jared Qian Auction is located at a manor on the outskirts of River City.

It was already six-thirty in the evening, and luxury cars filled the grounds outside the manor.

The cheapest car here is worth at least half a million yuan.

Evan sat calmly in the car, while the old driver kept glancing at him in the rearview mirror, eyes flickering and secretly mocking him.

So young and already so arrogant. So what if you fought Drake Huang to a draw? This banquet is a trap set just for you. I thought you might chicken out and run, so I brought extra men to drag you in if needed. But instead, you walk right in and bring your whole crew?

Thinking this, the old man’s lips curled into a faint smile.

...

Jared Qian Auction.

Inside the manor.

Everyone present tonight is a big name in River City.

Not only that, but the atmosphere is especially tense and solemn.

Third floor.

The four great families of River City—the Summers, Wangs, Lius, and Lis—each occupy their own section.

Only two people are on the Summer Family side.

One is dressed in a simple green shirt, looking somewhat thin but with sharp eyes—a scholarly middle-aged man reminiscent of ancient philosophers: Sawyer Summer.

He is the current head of the Summer Family. Though the family once had many businesses, they were all managed by relatives since it started as a family-run enterprise. After Sawyer Summer fell seriously ill, the actions of others disheartened him. Once he recovered, he began consolidating all assets with an iron fist, rooting out the family parasites. Now the Summer Family is stronger than ever.

Beside him, Summer Mu wears a loose sweatshirt, looking much better than before, though her expression is still a bit tense.

On the Wang Family side, Keaton Wang and his mother Linda Zhao are seated, along with a calm man in his twenties with hawk-like eyes—Wansheng Wang, head of Wansheng Real Estate.

There are two more: one in a suit, sharp and capable, is Victor Zhao, project manager of Wansheng Real Estate and an old friend of Wansheng Wang. Next to him sits his son, Jason Zhao.

Jason Zhao had suffered setbacks in Brightsea City. He was trying to pursue Chen Linyan, but Evan Lin kept interfering, even sending him to the hospital. After a long recovery, he came here with his father to watch the spectacle and try to build ties with Keaton Wang.

But Keaton Wang is shrewd and doesn't like Jason at all. He constantly mocks him, both openly and subtly, leaving Jason frustrated but unable to fight back.

At this moment, Keaton Wang—usually lively—is unusually quiet, sitting properly and resting his chin in his hand as he looks toward the Liu Family.

On the Liu Family's side.

Rachel Liu, Megan Liu, and Julia Du were seated there.

Beside them sat a middle-aged man, expressionless as he poured tea—Edward Liu, Rachel and Megan's father.

At the head of the table sat an elder.

The elder kept his eyes closed, yet his presence was deeply oppressive.

There were four more people—two men and two women—all Liu family members. Within the family, they often teased Julia's branch.

Though Julia looked glamorous to outsiders, she was not well-liked within the Liu family.

"Julia, I heard last time Rachel's classmate fought Drake Huang to a draw here?" one woman asked with a slight smile.

Julia nodded, "Mm."

"That's quite something—so young and already so good at fighting, but clearly neglecting his studies. Looks like sending Rachel to Brightsea City was a mistake; it's just ruined her, hanging out with all sorts of people." Another woman whispered mockingly, her gaze full of ridicule.

Julia forced an awkward smile, fuming inside but not daring to retort in public.

Rachel Liu remained calm and unruffled. Hearing this, she turned to Megan and noticed her dazed look. She asked quietly, "What’s wrong? Ever since Keaton Wang dragged you out last time and Mom scolded you, you’ve been spaced out. Did Keaton bully you?"

Rachel asked curiously.

Megan looked up at Rachel, "Sis, about your classmate..."

Before Megan could finish, Rachel's brow furrowed: "Don’t bring him up. He’d better never come to River City."

"Megan, stop overthinking things."

Rachel sighed softly. If Evan really came to River City, the danger would be obvious.

Come to think of it, he hadn’t been heard from in days. No one knew where he’d gone—he’d just vanished.

Could it be that the Lis secretly...

Thinking this, Rachel’s heart skipped a beat.

She didn’t notice that Megan, who’d been cut off, was resting her chin in thought, quietly muttering, "I just wanted to ask if your classmate is called Evan Lin or Evan 'Nine-Mysteries' Lin..."
