She Pricks Her 18

Dragon Mountain Hills.

There was another visitor that day.

To her surprise, it was Colin Grant who came to visit.

“Colin?” Lily Bai exclaimed in surprise.

With a smile as warm as spring sunshine, he said, “It’s really not easy to see you these days—I actually needed the President’s approval to come here.”

Lily Bai let him in and led him toward the living room.

As they walked through the courtyard, Colin Grant looked around and said, “No wonder there are roadblocks down below. Anyone who snuck out even a single brick or tile from this place could sell it for a fortune.”

Lily Bai laughed, “It’s a pretty old house. The roadblocks are there because this estate has been designated a national heritage site.”

Colin Grant suddenly stopped walking.

His gaze settled on the potted sapling swaying in the breeze—Evan Lan’s Vanishing Plant.

“What are you looking at, Colin?” Lily Bai asked, watching him.

“This potted plant is really thriving,” Colin Grant said.

Lily Bai gave a faint smile. “Come in and have a seat, it’s awfully hot outside.”

Colin Grant nodded and went inside.

He set down a pile of gifts he was carrying and said, “These are just a few things I bought for the baby.”

“You’re so thoughtful, Colin. I’ll thank you on behalf of the baby!”

“Where’s the baby? May I hold him for a look?”

Lily Bai called Lisa to bring out Noel “Moonlight” Lan.

Moonlight usually smiles at everyone he meets.

But today, for some reason, he was very serious, staring at Colin Grant with wide eyes.

Lily Bai was amused by his serious expression.

Colin Grant laughed too, praising the baby for being so beautiful and cute.

“Everyone says he looks like Evan Lan,” Lily Bai said.

“I think he looks like you,” Colin Grant replied. “By the way, where’s Evan? Is he in Haicheng?”

“He’s abroad, busy with some matters,” Lily Bai said.

“Oh…” Colin Grant nodded. “Actually, besides visiting you all, I also wanted to give you a heads-up.”

“A heads-up about what?”

“Shaun Fane,” Colin Grant said. “The Fane family is notoriously vengeful, not the forgiving type. You crippled Victor Fane and got Kenneth Fane sent to prison—be very careful.”

“How is that my fault?” Lily Bai replied coolly. “They brought it on themselves.”

“That’s true, but in their minds, it was you who did it!”

Lily Bai smiled. “Thanks for the warning, I’ll be careful.”

“Are you planning to stay in Dragon City and run your entertainment company?” Colin Grant asked again.

Lily Bai nodded. “That’s my plan for now.”

“That won’t be easy.” Colin Grant shook his head. “The Fane Group isn’t just a few entertainment companies—they’re embedded throughout the entire industry chain. Take streaming platforms, for example: the major ones are all partly or even mostly owned by them.”

The smaller platforms have also lived under the Fane Group’s shadow for years—unless they want to go out of business, nobody dares cross them.

Lily Bai nodded, looking completely unbothered.

Colin Grant thought she might not understand his point and asked, “Do you know what that means?”

“Of course! It means all the movies we work so hard to make might have nowhere to air,” Lily Bai replied.

Colin Grant nodded. “You look so confident, I guess you already have a plan.”

Lily Bai just smiled without saying anything.

“In that case, I feel better… Ever since you became enemies with the Fane family, I’ve often worried about you,” Colin Grant said, his gaze softening.

Lily Bai avoided his gaze and pretended to play with the baby.

After sitting for a while, Colin Grant got up to say goodbye.

As he was leaving, he reminded her several times that if she ever ran into any problems, she should call him.
