The Celestial Vulture was so fast that Evan Lin felt it was even quicker than his own teleportation. Seeing this immortal bird, he suddenly thought of Goldwing inside the Timewheel Bracelet, wondering how he and Shadow were doing now.
Goldwing had once said that he would eventually evolve into a Golden-Winged Roc, whose speed ranked number one in the Immortal Realm. The Golden-Winged Roc was the king among flying beasts, its status comparable to the Phoenix Clan.
In the Immortal Realm, no one could make a Golden-Winged Roc serve as a mount. Having such an immortal beast as your ride was a huge mark of prestige. Evan Lin imagined how cool it would be if, one day, he could soar across the skies of the Immortal Realm atop a Golden-Winged Roc.
Before long, Coldriver City appeared before the two of them. Evan Lin spoke up: "Blazefire, go into the Coldriver City Lord’s Mansion and bring out a man named Gavin Jin. He’s my friend—don’t hurt him. If anyone dares to stop you, kill them without mercy."
Blazefire Immortal Lord paused, a little annoyed. "Why do I have to go? I don’t even know the guy."
"Because you’re my little brother. If I don’t send you, do you expect the boss to go himself?" Evan Lin laughed.
Blazefire’s face instantly darkened. "Fine, fine! I’ll go! How did I end up with a boss like this?" With a flash, he dropped straight into the City Lord’s Mansion.
Seeing Blazefire’s frustrated expression, Evan Lin felt incredibly satisfied—it was even better than winning a battle against a group of women. After Blazefire went down, Evan flew down as well.
Blazefire was always hot-tempered. He only respected Evan Lin because he had no choice, but when dealing with anyone else, it was a whole different story.
After the Lord of Coldriver City died, the City Lord’s Mansion fell into chaos. The elders and guest experts had already looted all the valuables and fled. Now, aside from a few homeless servants, the mansion was completely deserted.
After searching for a while, Blazefire Immortal Lord finally spotted an elderly man. The old man was only an ordinary Immortal, and when he saw Blazefire appear, his face instantly turned pale with fright.
"Old man, is there someone named Gavin Jin in the City Lord’s Mansion? Where is he? Hurry up and take me there," Blazefire demanded without preamble.
"I—I don’t know that person. Maybe you should ask someone else, Immortal Lord," the old man stammered in terror, shocked that this middle-aged man was actually an Immortal Lord.
Blazefire felt a bit annoyed, but seeing that the old man was just a regular Immortal, he snapped, "Get lost! Useless—you don’t even know a single person!"
He strode straight into the main hall, but as soon as he entered, he saw a middle-aged man in the midst of violent intercourse with two completely naked women. The women’s moans filled the air.
Blazefire was instantly enraged—he loathed people who did such things in broad daylight. With a thought, the two women were yanked off the man’s body and instantly exploded into bloody mist.
The middle-aged man was stunned, his face twisted with terror as he stared at Blazefire. "Who are you? What do you want?" he cried.
The man was just as naked, and Blazefire saw his erect organ still brazenly on display. With a flick of his hand, a wind blade shot out, followed by a pig-slaughtering scream from the man.
The organ was severed from his body and landed quietly on the floor. Blood gushed from the man’s crotch as he curled up in agony, trembling all over, his face ghostly pale.
"If you don’t want to die, then tell me where Gavin Jin is. Otherwise, the next moment will be when you’re wiped out, body and soul," Blazefire threatened angrily.
The middle-aged man was at late-stage Golden Immortal realm. After the chaos in the City Lord’s Mansion, he’d snuck into the House of Ecstasy and found two women who hadn’t left yet. He’d wanted to come here for ages, so now that his wish was granted, he was determined to enjoy himself.
Little did he know that this pleasure almost cost him his life. When he realized Blazefire was actually an Immortal Lord, he was even more terrified. Enduring the pain, he said:
"Gavin Jin is still locked up in the City Lord’s dungeon. I don’t know if he’s alive or dead now."
"Where’s the dungeon? If anything happens to him, I’ll take your damned life!" Blazefire roared.
"The dungeon is in a secret underground chamber beneath the rear courtyard. That’s all I know—please spare my life, sir!" the middle-aged man pleaded.
Blazefire glanced at him and said, "Killing you would only dirty my hands. You’ll live, but you won’t escape punishment."
As soon as he finished speaking, he unleashed a wind blade, slicing off one of the man’s arms, then strode out of the House of Ecstasy.
He quickly reached the rear courtyard, but couldn’t find the entrance to the underground chamber. With a thought, he scanned the ground with his divine sense and said:
"So you used an illusion to hide the entrance. Such petty tricks dare to show off before an Immortal Lord? Break!"
A fiery blaze erupted from his hand, and after a few breaths, an entrance appeared on the ground. Blazefire went straight inside.
Meanwhile, Evan Lin wandered slowly through the City Lord’s Mansion, thinking to himself that he’d practically destroyed the place. He wondered whether Gavin Jin would still want to take the position of City Lord of Coldriver City.
Not long after, Blazefire Immortal Lord arrived, bringing with him a middle-aged man who was nothing but skin and bones. His long hair covered his face, making him look much like the old master Evan had met in the mine before.
The middle-aged man slowly raised his head, brushed his hair aside, and when he saw Evan Lin, his face was instantly filled with shock. He exclaimed:
"Are you Evan Lin, my dear brother? Is it really you, Evan?"
"Brother Jin, you’ve suffered so much. I’m sorry I came too late!" Evan Lin said immediately.
Gavin Jin used to be chubby, but now he was skin and bones from all the torment he’d endured. "Blazefire, do you have any healing elixirs? Give one to my brother, quick!" Evan urged.
Blazefire Immortal Lord immediately took out a red porcelain bottle from his storage ring, poured out a golden pill, and said, "This Immortal Green Pill should heal his wounds."
"Immortal Green Pill? That’s a top-tier grade two pill—far too precious! I can’t accept it," Gavin Jin said hurriedly.
"Once I give something away, I don’t take it back. Don’t make me lose my temper," Blazefire said. He respected Evan Lin, but didn’t care much for anyone else.
The words ‘Immortal Lord’ sent a chill down Gavin Jin’s spine. He couldn’t believe Evan Lin had befriended someone so powerful—it was simply unbelievable.
"Brother Jin, just take it. The City Lord of Coldriver City has already been slain by me. If you want to become the City Lord, you can do so anytime you like."
"I’m sure that if you want it, no one in Coldriver City would dare oppose you. With an Immortal Lord backing you, who would dare defy you?" Evan Lin said.
Gavin Jin felt as if he were dreaming. He stared at Evan Lin for a long time, unable to say a word...
