"Of course we won't fail! As long as you help me, how could we fail?" Casey shouted. "Howard, you've changed! You never used to be like this!"
"...I haven't changed, I just..." Howard still tried to persuade her.
Cherry Miller raised her eyebrows, giving Casey a meaningful look. "Fortune Garden? I remember that place is a bit out of the way. Miss Casey, you sure know how to pick a spot. There are so many restaurants in Newport City, and you just had to choose that one."
"It’s... It’s because I recently ate at Fortune Garden and thought the environment was quiet and the food was good, so I wanted to invite you there. Don't overthink it," Casey explained anxiously.
"Howard, don't tell me you've fallen for Cherry Miller too?" Casey eyed him suspiciously. "All you men are the same, bewitched by that temptress Cherry Miller!"
Howard didn't know how to explain. He opened his mouth, then finally said, "Alright, Casey, since you've made up your mind, nothing I say matters."
"Cecilia, are you chickening out? Afraid to even have a meal with me?" Casey taunted.
The smile at the corner of Cecilia's lips deepened.
Only then did Casey's mood brighten, and she smiled. "Howard, I knew you wouldn't let me down!"
Forcing someone to dinner?
Tsk tsk tsk.
Did Casey even check? In Newport City, no one dares to set a Hongmen Banquet trap for Cherry Miller.
She might not be the queen of Newport City, but her backers are all powerful.
Set her up with a trap dinner?
Howard came up to Casey as soon as she stepped out, asking eagerly, "Did Cherry Miller agree?"
"She did." Casey said confidently. "Howard, this is our one shot. When we ambush her, make sure you have enough people. We can't let Cherry Miller escape."
Howard, however, looked worried. He said seriously, "Casey, don’t be reckless. I’ve been looking into the Yin family and Cherry Miller these days. I just found out—the Yin family's influence is way beyond what we imagined. Cherry Miller was personally mentored by Mrs. Yin, and her connections here are unbelievably strong. If you go after her in Newport City, it’s like pulling a tiger’s teeth."
"Howard, why are you defending Cherry Miller? Aren’t you my friend?" Casey protested.
"I’m not defending her, I’m worried about you." Sweat beaded on Howard’s forehead. "Have you thought about what happens if we fail? Will we even make it out of Newport City alive?"
Cecilia was bound to fall for it!
When that time comes... will Charles Yin still want to be with Cecilia?
When the time comes, she'll be merciful and let Cecilia live.
She’s so kind—Charles Yin is bound to like her!
Cecilia sighed softly, then turned to look at Casey seriously. "Casey, let me give you one last piece of advice: ‘The sea of bitterness has no bounds; turn back to the shore.’"
"What bitterness, what shore? I don’t understand what you’re saying! I just want to treat you to dinner! Are you going or not?" Casey’s tone made it clear she wasn’t really giving Cecilia a choice.
Howard breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. I’ll go make arrangements and keep a close watch on her."
"Tomorrow at eleven thirty." Casey blurted out, almost afraid Cecilia would change her mind. "Don’t be late."
"Alright." Cecilia nodded. "Can I leave now? There are a lot of people waiting for me over there."
Following Cecilia's gaze, Casey saw several people nearby watching them, clearly waiting for Cecilia to come over and chat.
Seeing Cecilia so popular made Casey even more uncomfortable.
"Go ahead." Casey finally let go, though clearly reluctant.
Cherry Miller, oh Cherry Miller.
In short, Cecilia was the most popular woman at the event—no contest.
Meanwhile, after the banquet, Cherry Miller walked out and said to her bodyguard, "Casey was acting strange tonight, insisting I go to Fortune Garden for dinner. Go investigate what she’s really up to."
"Yes, Assistant Miller." The bodyguard stepped away to carry out the order.
"She did." Casey said confidently. "Howson, this is our one shot. When we ambush her, make sure you have enough people. We can't let Cecilia escape."
Howson, however, looked worried. He said seriously, "Casey, don’t be reckless. I’ve been looking into the Yin family and Cecilia these days. I just found out—the Yin family’s influence is way beyond what we imagined. Cecilia was personally mentored by Mrs. Yin, and her connections here are unbelievably strong. If you go after her in N City, it’s like pulling a tiger’s teeth."
"Howson, why are you defending Cecilia? Aren’t you my friend?" Casey protested.
"I’m not defending her, I’m worried about you." Sweat beaded on Howson’s forehead. "Have you thought about what happens if we fail? Will we even make it out of N City alive?"
"Of course we won't fail! As long as you help me, how could we fail?" Casey shouted. "Howson, you've changed! You never used to be like this!"
"...I haven't changed, I just..." Howson still tried to persuade her.
But Casey wasn't listening anymore.
These days, not being able to see Charles Yin had driven Casey a little crazy.
Half an hour later, Cherry Miller opened her eyes again, her fatigue completely gone.
She was still the strong Cherry Miller.
"Hmph."
"No matter what happens, I won't abandon you. Back then, you gave me that piece of cake and saved my life. You can take it back anytime." Howson clenched his fists, finally making up his mind. "Casey, even if everyone else abandons you, I'll never leave your side."
Only then did Casey's mood brighten, and she smiled. "Howson, I knew you wouldn't let me down!"
Casey excitedly grabbed Howson's arm. "Cecilia is extremely alert and smart, so Howson, you need to handle this yourself."

"Uh..." Howson hesitated, then agreed. "I'll keep a close eye on her. Casey, you really just want to teach Cecilia a lesson, not do anything bad to her, right?"
Howson couldn't help but confirm with Casey.
Lately, Casey had been in a constant state of agitation because she couldn't find Cecilia or Charles Yin.
No matter how much he tried to persuade her, she wouldn't listen.
Howson was afraid Casey might do something extreme.
If it’s just to teach Cecilia a lesson, the Yin family won’t do anything.
But if Casey really hurts Cecilia, there's no telling if either of them could leave here safely.
The Yin family's influence in N City is truly terrifying.
Not just N City, but the whole province is practically under the Yin family's control.
Let alone S City—almost ninety percent of it is Yin family territory.
"Of course," Casey replied, her eyes flickering. She didn’t tell Howson the truth.
She didn’t just want to teach Cecilia a lesson—she wanted to ruin her for good.
She was simply too obsessed with Charles Yin.
And Cecilia just had to be the one Charles Yin liked.
That’s fate!
Howson breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. I’ll go make arrangements and keep a close watch on her."
"Alright." Once Howson left, Casey immediately dialed a number. "Brother Chen, as we discussed, I’ll need about ten people... Yes, I want to destroy her completely. Can your people handle it?"
"Miss Kofi, you’re truly ruthless. I wonder what that poor girl did to make you want to ruin her reputation and scar her face? Tsk tsk, women really are the most vicious," Chen said.
"Brother Chen, I don’t like what you’re saying," Casey retorted. "I’m paying you, aren’t I?"
"Alright, alright, money talks. I’ve already told the guys—once the car arrives, we grab her. After it’s done, we’re out."
"Good, it’s settled." Casey hung up, a cold glint in her eyes as she unconsciously clenched her fist.
Cecilia, oh Cecilia.
Tomorrow will be your doom!
Meanwhile, after the banquet, Cecilia walked out and said to her bodyguard, "Casey was acting strange tonight, insisting I go to Fortune Garden for dinner. Go investigate what she’s really up to."
"Yes, Assistant Mi." The bodyguard stepped away to carry out the order.
Cecilia held her head high, her three-inch heels like battle boots, stamping on everyone’s hearts.
She wasn’t some naive little flower, blindly doing as she was told. She’d never foolishly walk into a trap.
The bodyguard opened the car door, shielding her head as she got in, then quickly closed the door behind her.
"Assistant Mi, your next stop is to represent Danni Company for tea with the chairman of Lantian Biotech," her assistant reminded. "Is Danni so short-staffed they’re sending you?"
Cecilia smiled as she took the hot towel from her assistant and wiped her hands. "There’s a reason. Chairman Qian of Lantian and I attended a training course together—we’re on good terms. Besides, President Mu is abroad and can’t return for now, Madam Yin is swamped with Gu Miao’s affairs, and President Yun is in Y Province. With all three gone, someone has to manage Danni. Working for Madam Yin is my duty."
"Assistant Mi, you’re so capable," the assistant sighed. "No wonder the chairman and madam see you as the future successor. No one else could do it."
"Don’t say that," Cecilia replied with a smile. "It’s my job to do my best. Let me rest for a bit—call me when we arrive."
"Yes, Assistant Mi," the assistant answered respectfully.
Half an hour later, Cecilia opened her eyes again, her fatigue completely gone.
She was still the strong Cecilia.
The battlefield ahead was waiting for her.
She was fearless.
