Return to Starhaven City

12/19/2025

Wave after wave of blade force crashed against the giant white ring, shattering the rules of the starry sky and scattering Dao resonance into chaos. One irregular black hole after another was blasted open, but these voids were utterly devoid of cosmic law, appearing even more terrifying than chaos itself.

The first to sixth waves of blade force unleashed by the Time's Third Loom were all intercepted by the giant white ring. It was as if a circle had been drawn in the void, trapping every surge of blade energy within. Once the endless killing intent of the blade path was encircled by the white halo, it immediately vanished into the ring's center, leaving no trace behind.

Although Ezra Hu's giant ring seemed to easily contain Joe Di's first six waves of blade force, Joe Di knew full well that Ezra Hu absolutely could not stop his seventh wave. He wouldn't even need to use Time's Fourth Loom to defeat Ezra Hu.

As the blade force, stretching tens of millions of feet, swept forward in unbroken waves, Ezra Hu felt the pressure of death intensifying. When he blocked the sixth wave, he was certain that if things continued, he would have no way to withstand the seventh. This clash seemed effortless only because of his artifact.

At this moment, Ezra Hu's heart sank to rock bottom. When Joe Di unleashed Time's Third Loom, and the surging blade force came roaring like a cosmic river in reverse, Ezra Hu realized Joe Di's strength was formidable. Now, after six waves, he understood that Joe Di was not just strong—he was unfathomably strong. At least for now, Ezra Hu was no match for him.

He suspected that Joe Di must have stepped into the Seventh Step, or at the very least touched its threshold. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so utterly overwhelmed, unable even to fight back.

Now, Ezra Hu's Dao resonance from his Thousand-Ring Divine Art was exhausted. Not only that, his Chaos Net was bound by a spatial law he'd never encountered, trapped within Joe Di's domain. And the waves of Joe Di's blade force clearly hadn't ceased—if the seventh wave swept forth, death was inevitable.

Ezra Hu's face turned pale. He knew he had to make a sacrifice; today, he had truly met his match.

Just as Ezra Hu thought this, a wild, terrifying killing intent surged down from above, making his heart tremble uncontrollably. Beneath his divine sense was a boundless wave of blade force—surely more than seventy million feet in length. If he were engulfed by this terrifying blade force, no matter what tricks he had, death would be certain.

Sure enough, just as he feared, Joe Di unleashed the seventh wave of blade force.

Just as Joe Di was about to see how Ezra Hu would handle his seventh wave of blade attacks, Ezra Hu suddenly rushed toward his artifact, the Millennial Ring.

Joe Di was slightly taken aback. Was Ezra Hu seeking death? In his view, Ezra Hu should barely withstand his seventh wave of blade force, then flee. At that moment, all Joe Di needed was a single Time Arrow to easily finish Ezra Hu off.

But what did it mean for Ezra Hu to rush toward that giant ring? Was he simply too afraid to die cleanly?

Bang! As Ezra Hu charged toward the giant ring, countless shattered Dao laws exploded around it. In the next instant, the ring seemed to traverse space and time, vanishing without a trace among the fragments.

Impressive! Joe Di secretly marveled. He had seen many escape techniques, but to use one's own artifact to flee so silently and without leaving a single trace—he had never witnessed such a thing before.

Against such a formidable opponent, Joe Di could defeat him, but killing him was indeed difficult. However, this kind of technique would only work once against him.

Joe Di didn't mind failing to kill Ezra Hu. He was certain Ezra Hu wouldn't dare return to Starhaven City. If he saw Ezra Hu there again, he would strike without hesitation. The next time, he would see how Ezra Hu managed to escape.

Joe Di reached out, and the Chaos Net, still bound by his Grand Law in the void, fell into his hand. He sent it directly into his Personal World.

At least he hadn't returned empty-handed—he had gained something.

After storing away the Chaos Net, Joe Di's gaze fell on a hazy patch of starry clouds in the distance. Someone had been hiding there earlier; after he nearly killed Ezra Hu, that person slipped away. Ezra Hu should thank the one lurking on the sidelines—they had at least contributed a little to his escape.

Joe Di hadn't detected who that person was, but in his view, it was likely Yang Si'an. Yang Si'an's strength was probably about the same as Ezra Hu's; since Ezra Hu wasn't his match, Yang Si'an wouldn't fare much better.

......

When Joe Di walked into the Grand Way Array Gate of Starhaven City, completely unscathed, everyone who saw him was stunned. Joe Di and Ezra Hu had left together, and now Joe Di had returned, safe and sound.

What did this mean? If Joe Di had merely escaped Ezra Hu's pursuit, he would never have returned so casually. That left only one possibility: Ezra Hu was not Joe Di's match. Although this seemed almost impossible, the facts were right in front of them.

A cultivator who had followed Joe Di after the auction turned pale upon seeing Joe Di step through the Starhaven City array gate. He quickly lowered his head.

"Wait." Joe Di's two words nearly made the cultivator's heart leap out of his throat.

"Senior..." The cultivator hurriedly stopped and bowed to Joe Di. Although he was already at the early Sixth Step, he still had to address Joe Di as 'Senior.'

Joe Di couldn't care less whether this fellow had followed him. He casually asked, "I have two friends here. Where did they go while I was out?"

"Si Ye took them to the Refiner Dao Universe. I think they went to search for Refiner Dao Gold." The cultivator replied promptly, worried that Joe Di might strike at him over a single wrong word.

"Thanks." After Joe Di spoke, his divine sense swept out without hesitation. When his divine sense reached the area of Starhaven City with the clearest rules and best environment, he immediately asked, "There's an independent lake over there, with a cave mansion by a grove of Longevity Bamboo. Whose cave mansion is that?"

The cultivator bowed respectfully again. "Senior, that is Ezra Hu's cave mansion."

Normally, they wouldn't dare refer to Ezra Hu directly. Whenever his name was mentioned, it was always 'Saint Lord Hu.' But in front of Joe Di, how could he still dare to use that title?

Ezra Hu's cave mansion? Joe Di laughed heartily, thanked the cultivator again, and with a single stride crossed more than a dozen narrow streets, arriving outside Ezra Hu's cave mansion.

"So powerful." The Sixth Step cultivator who had been stopped by Joe Di finally relaxed, only then realizing his back was drenched in cold sweat.

Everyone around was shocked as they watched Joe Di head in that direction. Soon, the crowd scattered—no one asked where Ezra Hu had gone, and no one spoke of Joe Di's affairs.

But everyone understood one thing: apart from the Three Saint Lords, Starhaven City was about to gain another peak expert. No, it should be apart from the Two Saint Lords. Moreover, this new powerhouse likely surpassed the other two Saint Lords in strength.

......

Arriving outside Ezra Hu's cave mansion, Joe Di destroyed Ezra Hu's protective array without hesitation, then easily set up his own.

This place would be his future retreat, so the protective array naturally had to be properly arranged.

Once everything was prepared, Joe Di destroyed Ezra Hu's former cultivation site and built a new training chamber for himself.

It wasn't that he disliked Ezra Hu, but his Grand Law resonated with the rules of heaven and earth. Only a cultivation chamber constructed to his own specifications could better accommodate the Dao Tree's flowing Dao rhythm.

Gong Qianyi and Yu Zhaiyi had gone to the Refiner Dao Universe, so Joe Di wasn't too worried, especially with Si Ye helping them.

Right now, his task was to refine the Vast Iron Crystal—large as a planet—into a colossal Chaos Ship. In the future, when he ventured into the void or chaos, he wouldn't need to rely on the Heavenly Sable Blade or the World-Opening Brush for travel.

The Heavenly Sable Blade and World-Opening Brush were both weapons for attack. When it came to travel, they lacked comfort, and their speed was lacking. As for his Law Escape technique, he couldn't use it constantly for travel—even with his profound Dao, it wasn't realistic to always rely on Law Escape for journeys.

The Vast Iron Crystal was different. Once refined into a flying artifact, it would be unmatched in speed while traversing chaos.

If his skills were sufficient, it wasn't impossible for the Chaos Ship forged from Vast Iron Crystal to one day become a supreme artifact of creation.

The Grand Way Array Gate of Starhaven City was quiet and undisturbed—the perfect place for him to refine his ship.

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
