Duel with the Second Elder

1/19/2026

After Evan Chu stepped out, the rest of the hall's occupants followed. All of them were itching for the Second Elder to teach this arrogant brat a harsh lesson and show him the true might of the Obsidian Tortoise Clan.

The Obsidian Tortoise Temple Master frowned slightly, glanced at Evan Chu in the sky, and said, "Qingshuang, I think you two should tear open space and duel inside a spatial black hole. I don't want our clan's buildings wrecked by your fight."

Evan Chu didn't say a word, just nodded. This place still had day and night, but no sun, moon, or stars. The weirdest thing was the natural spatial black holes—this Mystic Ice Tortoise's inner world was honestly beyond words.

"Temple Master, why bother entering a spatial black hole just to deal with someone who hasn't even reached the Saint Martial Realm? I can finish him in a single move—just watch." The Second Elder boasted, full of swagger.

Evan Chu didn't waste words. He pulled out the Frostbane Sword from his storage ring, and with one Earthsplitter, he effortlessly ripped open the space right there.

"Second Elder, after you. Don't let me down with your attack power," Evan Chu grinned, brimming with confidence.

The crowd was stunned. Evan Chu had just torn open space like it was nothing—something no Divine Martial Realm cultivator should ever be able to do. Some started to wonder if this guy was playing the pig to eat the tiger.

But even if he could break space, that didn't mean he could beat the Second Elder. In this Mystic Ice Tortoise's inner world, plenty of people could tear space—anyone at the First Layer Saint Martial Realm or higher could pull it off.

The Second Elder darted to the mouth of the spatial black hole Evan Chu had torn open and called out, "Anyone who wants to watch, come on in! Let's see just how fearsome this so-called peerless expert from ten thousand years ago really is!"

As soon as he finished, everyone shot into the air—except for the Obsidian Tortoise Temple Master, who stayed put. He knew the Second Elder was about to embarrass himself and figured a lesson in humility wouldn't hurt. Just because you've got a bit of power doesn't mean you can look down on everyone.

Evan Chu and the rest entered the spatial black hole. No flying meteors here—just endless blue sky, not dark at all, and you could see clear to the horizon.

"Second Elder, you're a big shot in the Obsidian Tortoise Clan. I trust you'll keep your word—if I win, you let me take the Soaring Feather Young Lord," Evan Chu said, eyes locked on his opponent.

"If you've got the skills. But if I cut you down, don't blame me for being ruthless—just means you weren't good enough. Let's get started!" The Second Elder couldn't wait to throw down.

"Everyone says the Obsidian Tortoise Clan's defense is insane. Time for me to see it up close!" Evan Chu said, spinning the Frostbane Sword into a sword-flower. Earthsplitter, laced with wind and thunder, shot toward his opponent.

This Earthsplitter was way fiercer than before, the sword-qi packed with lightning and even deadlier. But the Second Elder wasn't some pushover—he whipped out a massive blue saber and, as Evan Chu slashed, countered with a lightning-fast chop of his own.

Evan Chu saw the saber blaze with blue light and a chill swept in. In an instant, water elements in the air condensed into countless ice swords, all streaking straight at him.

The Obsidian Tortoise Clan was packed with water-attribute sacred beasts, masters of water element manipulation. Those ice swords instantly morphed into Mystic Ice, making them deadlier than ever.

The ice swords clashed with Evan Chu's sword-qi in a deafening explosion. Space around them rocked as most of the Second Elder's ice swords were shattered, though a handful still struck Evan Chu.

Most of Evan Chu's sword-qi attacks were neutralized too, but a few cut into the Second Elder. Evan's sword-qi was laced with lightning—way more dangerous than basic water or fire elements. No matter how tough you are, that numbing shock couldn't be blocked.

The Second Elder was blasted dozens of meters away, his whole body shaking uncontrollably. It took him several breaths to steady himself, staring at Evan Chu like he'd seen a ghost.

Evan Chu was only knocked back a few meters. He didn't bother dodging the Mystic Ice swords—his Sixth-Layer Starforge Body was tough enough that he didn't need to. Honestly, he figured even the Obsidian Tortoise Temple Master couldn't match his defense.

The crowd was shaken, staring at Evan Chu like he was some kind of monster. Few people could walk away unharmed after taking the Second Elder's Mystic Ice Sword head-on, but Evan Chu barely budged while the elder was sent flying. The difference in strength was obvious.

Evan Chu glanced at the Second Elder off in the distance and said, "You'd better show your true form. With attacks like that, you can't touch me. Don't think you can bully me just because I'm in the Divine Martial Realm. Honestly, I could kill you in minutes, but I promised the Obsidian Tortoise Temple Master not to take your life—so you'd better go all out!"

"Kid, you sure talk big! Even our Temple Master wouldn't dare say that, let alone some Divine Martial Realm trash like you. Today I'll show you the true power of the Obsidian Tortoise Clan!" The Second Elder snapped, convinced he'd only lost earlier because of Evan Chu's lightning tricks. If he dodged that, he figured he'd win for sure.

"Perfect. I love dealing with arrogant types like you. Since you won't listen, don't blame me for getting ruthless! Take this!" Evan Chu was getting fired up—if he didn't teach this guy a lesson, they'd all think he was weak.

The Frostbane Sword in Evan Chu's grip blazed with light as he unleashed Heaven-Cleave, fusing all five elements and lightning together. He knew this strike might not kill the Second Elder, but it could seriously mess him up. If things got out of hand, Evan was ready to just grab the Soaring Feather Young Lord and leave.

Heaven-Cleave's sword-qi instantly fused into a giant blade, sending out a world-shattering pressure. The spectators felt like they couldn't breathe and scrambled backward, faces pale with shock.

Even Evan Chu was surprised by how insane his attack was. If he used Unicorn Arm with this strike, he figured he could wipe out everyone nearby with a single blow.

Only now did the Second Elder realize just how terrifying this human was. After a flash of blue light, a tortoise the size of a house appeared in front of Evan Chu.

Evan Chu saw the tortoise's shell covered in spikes—totally bizarre and intimidating. Almost at the same time, the Second Elder, now in his true form, spat a jet of water that instantly froze into Mystic Ice, rushing to meet Evan Chu's attack head-on.

Space around them convulsed, cracks tearing through the air, and with a thunderous boom, the spatial black hole collapsed. The Second Elder of the Obsidian Tortoise Clan was blasted hundreds of meters away by Evan Chu's sword.
