Demon-Sealing Stele

2/27/2026

Staring at the cliff, Evan had a feeling—combined with the inscription "Turn Back and You Will Find the Shore"—that something was off. Out of curiosity, he looked behind him, only to find the path he'd come from had vanished. "What's going on?" Evan wondered, now realizing he had no way forward or back. With no other option, he decided to try flying across the cliff, aiming straight for the opposite side.

After a short flight, he reached the opposite side. There, he saw a single stone pillar standing tall, surrounded on all sides by cliffs so deep that even his divine sense couldn't reach the bottom. He had no idea what lay around him. As he looked at the spot where he now stood, he noticed a stone stele blocking the way forward.

He could feel a breeze coming from beneath the stele, as if there were a cave opening sealed by it. Evan reached out to touch it and discovered it was protected by a formation—one that was actually quite impressive.

"Let’s move this stele and see what’s really going on here," Evan thought, deciding to shift the stone stele aside.

After a moment, he began manipulating the formation around the stele. Soon, his own array enveloped the formation’s opening, and before long, Evan had dismantled the formation entirely. He hovered in midair as he worked.

The formation triggered a chain reaction, blasting the stele off the cliff. Strangely, the stele remained completely intact, though it plummeted into the abyss. But from the now-exposed opening, a surge of black qi erupted, swirling like a gust of wind and forming a humanoid shape in midair—one that resembled the Demon Sovereign Evan had seen before.

Just as Evan was wondering what this black qi was, the figure burst out laughing. "Ha ha, ha ha! I’m finally out! I’m finally free! Immortal Realm, I’ll turn you into a river of blood!"

"Who are you, exactly?" Evan noticed the figure seemed badly injured—if he tried, he might actually be able to kill him.

"Kid, you—thanks! Ha ha! When I slaughter everyone in the Immortal Realm, I’ll leave you alive! As for who I am? Remember this: Sky-Flooding Demon Sovereign—the strongest Demon Sovereign in the Devil Realm! That’s me! The Immortal Realm tried to kill me? Not so easy!" The black qi laughed wildly.

"A Demon Sovereign? There was actually a Demon Sovereign sealed here?" Evan was shocked—and this Sky-Flooding Demon Sovereign seemed to be a big deal.

"Enough talk. Since you freed me, I'll tell you how to leave this place: just fly upward. As long as you have enough power, you can escape. Especially now that you’ve knocked the stele down—this space isn’t bound anymore." The Sky-Flooding Demon Sovereign laughed, then swept upward like a gust of wind and vanished.

After the Demon Sovereign disappeared, the fallen stele suddenly floated back up. It instantly grew larger, as if trying to chase after the black qi, but the black qi was already gone.

With a thunderous crash, the stele slammed back down over the cave opening, radiating yellow light.

"You, come over here." A voice called out. Evan was startled, glancing around, unsure where the voice was coming from.

"Over by the stele." The voice sounded again. Evan was startled, walked up to the stele, and asked, "Are you the one speaking?"

"That’s right. It’s me," the stele replied.

"What’s actually going on here?" Evan was at a loss, feeling like he’d triggered some kind of trouble.

"Looks like you don’t know anything. I don’t have much time, so I won’t explain in detail. I can only tell you: before he regains his full strength, you must suppress him. You must suppress him!" the stele said.

"But... he’s a Demon Sovereign, incredibly powerful. How am I supposed to suppress him?" Evan asked, frustrated.

"Take me with you. If you ever see him again, take me out—I can sense him. If possible, I’ll use my last bit of power to suppress him," the stele said.

At this moment, he found himself at the same place where he’d parted ways with Nangong Yanxia and the others. The mountain peak was just as before, and the planet itself hadn’t changed.

"Is the planet really unchanged? Cloudpeak Star is still Cloudpeak Star?" Evan muttered to himself.

After a while, he tried contacting Nangong Yanxia and the others, but couldn’t reach them—the space was still cut off from the outside world. Left with no choice, Evan waited. About three days later, he was forcibly ejected and returned to the planet he’d originally entered from. There, he took out his Transmission Stone and saw a message from Lora Luo.

He was shocked when he saw the message.

Evan quickly contacted Lora Luo.

At that moment, Lora was hiding in an inn, too scared to step outside. When Evan’s message arrived, she was overjoyed and quickly told him her location. When Evan arrived, Lora greeted him, "You finally came back."

"What happened? What about Miss Nangong and Sharla?" Evan asked anxiously.

"I don’t know what happened. Someone suddenly appeared and took Sharla. Miss Nangong tried to stop them, but was taken too," Lora replied.

"Sharla? Who would have a grudge against Sharla?" Evan wondered, searching his mind for anything related to her.

Lora took out a Transmission Stone. "Here."

"What’s this?" Evan asked curiously.

"The person who took them told me: if you come back, give you this Transmission Stone, and then you can find him," Lora explained.

Evan was confused—why take them, but leave a way to contact him? Was he the real target? He took out the Transmission Stone, and immediately a voice sounded, laughing: "You finally showed up, kid. I know you’re powerful, with plenty of tricks—even Devil Realm Emissaries aren’t your match. But! I’m not afraid of you, and I don’t care what backing you have. I just want to know: why are you so strong? What cultivation method do you practice? If you want those two lives, bring me those answers."

"You’re not afraid I’ll kill you?" Evan was furious—using Sharla and Nangong Yanxia to threaten him.

"Kill me? Let’s see who kills whom first, kid. Don’t get cocky—their lives are still in my hands," the man laughed.

"Who are you, really?" Evan demanded.

"Me? You want to know so badly? You’ve never seen me, but you’ve given me a headache. Come to the place I specify—only you. If anyone else shows up, wait until next time to find me." The voice laughed, then cut the connection.

Evan was furious. He had no idea who the other party was, since he didn’t recognize the voice at all.

"What should we do? Will they be okay?" Lora asked worriedly.

"They’re fine for now. If anything happens to them, I’ll make their captors pay with their lives!" Evan said.

"Then let’s hurry back and find our elders," Lora suggested.

Evan shook his head. "I’ll handle this myself. He said he didn’t want to see anyone else. You stay in my tower—I’ll go rescue them."

"But you—it’s really dangerous," Lora said worriedly.

Evan shook his head. "It’s fine. Go ahead."

Lora had no choice but to enter Evan’s tower. Evan left the city, found a deserted spot, and took out his Space Ring. He released a large group of people—not animals, but cultivators of all kinds, many of them quite powerful.

They were thrilled to finally return to the Immortal Realm, especially the middle-aged man who had once been a rabbit. He said, "Thank you so much, Dao friend."

The others also thanked him, even inviting Evan for a drink to cement their friendship. Evan apologized, "Sorry everyone, I have urgent business and must leave."

"Oh? Leaving so soon? What’s your name? We’d like to know you better," the middle-aged man said, surprised at Evan’s hurry.

"I’m Evan Yang. We’ll meet again someday," Evan said, then flashed away.

Seeing Evan rush off, the crowd exchanged glances.

"Looks like we’ll have to wait for next time," said the middle-aged man.

The others nodded, planning to thank Evan properly next time. As for Evan, he had no time for pleasantries—his only focus now was rushing to the location the man specified, to rescue Nangong Yanxia and Sharla from their predicament.
