Mrs. Yin

1/4/2026

No one expected Mrs. Yin, who had been recuperating in South America for years, to suddenly return to the country.

Even more surprising, Mrs. Yin didn't fly directly to the old mansion in N City, but landed straight in K City.

Yin Sicheng already felt a vague sense of unease in his heart.

He kept feeling that his mother’s return was aimed at Gu Xixi.

He had finally found harmony with Gu Xixi, but if his mother interfered in their relationship as soon as she got back, then Gu Xixi...

The doctor had warned Yin Sicheng before that pregnant women are prone to overthinking and anxiety.

This condition is called pregnancy anxiety disorder.

Gu Xixi didn’t talk much, but she was a strong-willed person.

If she got caught between his mother and Sylvia Ran, it would only be bad for her.

Yin Sicheng originally didn’t want Gu Xixi to go out with Mu Ruona, but now he felt it might be best for her to avoid his mother for a while.

Everyone rushed through their meal and said hurried goodbyes.

The group drove back to K City in a grand convoy.

After returning to K City, Yin Sicheng took Sylvia Ran alone to the airport to welcome Mrs. Yin, leaving Gu Xixi waiting at home.

Mu Ruona stood with Gu Xixi at the door. The two women looked at each other, their expressions complicated, not knowing how to comfort one another.

Mo Zixin and Mo Zixuan went home, and the Yun family returned to their own place as well.

Gu Xixi sighed softly and said to Mu Ruona, “Ruona, I have a bad feeling about this.”

Mu Ruona nodded, “Me too. I have a bad feeling.”

It was already late. Stars dotted the sky above, while the ground was shrouded in darkness.

Gu Xixi was getting tired from standing, so Aunt Zhang brought over chairs for her and Mu Ruona to wait at the door.

Gu Xixi didn’t know what kind of person Yin Sicheng’s mother would be, but she was sure she’d be nothing like the chairman of the Yin family!

After six years of secluded treatment, she was inevitably a little different.

Headlights flashed ahead, and the roar of the car engine filled the air.

Gu Xixi slowly stood up, mentally preparing herself, putting on a suitable smile, determined to show her best side.

But before Gu Xixi could even raise her smile, it froze at the corners of her mouth.

The car door opened, and the first to step out wasn’t her mother-in-law, but Sylvia Ran, intimately holding Charles Yin’s arm.

Watching the two of them snuggled together, a complicated mix of emotions surged in Gu Xixi’s heart.

The next second, Mrs. Yin’s wheelchair was pushed over. Gu Xixi snapped out of her daze and hurried forward. "Mom..."

Mrs. Yin quickly glanced at Gu Xixi. That look was so cold, so distant and full of disdain.

The rest of Gu Xixi’s words got stuck in her throat; she couldn’t say another word.

"Auntie, this is Gu Xixi, the wife Charles had no choice but to marry." Sylvia Ran affectionately held Mrs. Yin’s arm. "Auntie, no matter what, please don’t be angry, at least for the sake of the fourth generation of the Yin family that she’s carrying. I’ll take care of you every day and make you happy!"

Mrs. Yin’s attitude toward Sylvia Ran completely changed. She patted Sylvia’s hand and said, "Silly girl, why take care of me? If you really want me happy, hurry up and have a child with Charles!"

Gu Xixi’s face instantly turned pale!

Even if her mother-in-law disliked her, did she really have to say something like that right in front of her?

This wasn’t just a warning—it was clear she was already trying to drive her out!

Gu Xixi didn’t look at Charles Yin.

She couldn’t see the guilt in Charles’s eyes.

But what did it matter whether she saw it or not?

Gu Xixi just stood there, stunned, not knowing what to say.

Mrs. Yin maneuvered her wheelchair forward, followed by a group of people. Except for Charles Yin, no one spared Gu Xixi a glance.

Gu Xixi was left standing aside, like an outsider.

Rona Muir couldn't watch any longer. She was just about to speak when Cecilia Gu shook her head at her.

Mrs. Yin knew Rona Muir, since Rona was someone Sean Kerr had his eye on. So Mrs. Yin's impression of Rona was actually quite good.

"Mrs. Yin," Sylvia said softly, "You're back."

Mrs. Yin glanced at Sylvia Ran and said gently, "No need to be so formal! You haven't changed much in these years—just gotten prettier!"

Cecilia Gu felt a wave of bitterness in her heart.

Her mother-in-law was kinder to outsiders than to her.

What grounds did she have to fight for anything anymore?

Charles Yin didn't miss the pale look on Cecilia's face. He reached for her hand, but Cecilia quickly avoided his touch and said in a flat, emotionless voice, "So you've decided to sacrifice me for your mother, haven't you? She's your mother, I can't blame you. I understand your choice."

Charles thought to himself, 'This is bad. Cecilia already has a grudge against me.'

Charles was about to explain when Mrs. Yin, already at the door, suddenly turned and called out, "Charles, come help your mom!"

Charles quickly said to Cecilia, "Cecilia, you have to trust me. I'm just trying to keep my mom calm for now. I'll explain everything to you later!"

Explain? What's left to explain?

Cecilia's expression didn't change at all. She gave Charles nothing.

Charles sighed and hurried over to help Mrs. Yin with her wheelchair, guiding her into the house.

Cecilia followed them into the house, intending to go to her own room and rest.

Suddenly, Mrs. Yin spoke up: "Cecilia, come here for a moment."

Cecilia froze. This was the first thing her mother-in-law had said to her all night.

Why was she being called over? What did her mother-in-law want?

It was probably just another warning, right?

Cecilia didn't dare disobey her mother-in-law. She could only walk over slowly.
