Evan Yang stepped outside and asked, "What's the matter?"
"Reporting the latest situation to you," someone replied. Evan was curious, "Oh? What is it?"
The person explained, "Here's what's going on: Evan Yang has already been chased into a Chaos World plane by Jalon Drake and the Nether Sky Demon King, but Evan is hiding, which has driven those two into a fury—they're recklessly destroying planets right now."
"Got it. Keep monitoring them," Evan Yang said. The person replied, "Yes, sir," and left with the others. Evan muttered to himself, "These guys are pretty thorough with their surveillance."
Regaining his focus, Evan Yang returned to the cave, looked at the two captives, and smiled, "Any guesses what I'm going to do next?"
"What are you planning to do?" Special Envoy Victor Shi asked. Evan Yang smiled, "Not much, really. Just wanted to let you know that I'll eventually meet the person you're waiting for—when the time comes."
Special Envoy Victor Shi snorted, "Keep dreaming. You won't succeed."
"Whether I succeed or not, we'll find out soon enough," Evan Yang said with a smile. He ignored them, sealed both of them up, then disguised himself as Eric Song, memorizing Eric's key deeds for later use.
Just like that, days went by until one day someone arrived outside and said, "Special Envoy Victor Shi, Envoy Li has called you back."
Hearing this, Victor Shi was shocked, while Evan Yang smiled, "The opportunity has arrived." He walked out and saw a stranger. Evan searched his memories, then spoke, "Daniel Niu, didn't expect you to be the messenger."
"Oh, Envoy Song, you're here. By the way, where is your Special Envoy Victor Shi? I don't see him," Daniel Niu asked curiously.
Evan Yang replied with a smile, "Envoy Song went to supervise that Evan Yang. He won't be back for a while. You know how it is—he wanted to handle things personally. By the way, he told me that if anything important comes up, you can tell me and I'll pass it on to him."
"Is that so? Then come with me," Daniel Niu said after thinking it over. Evan Yang asked, "Oh? What's going on?"
"The higher-ups are about to begin the first step of the world-ending plan. All you Envoys need to know some details. I can't explain here—you'll have to come with me, then relay what you hear to your Envoy," Daniel Niu said.
Evan Yang smiled, "Alright, no problem. I'll get ready and come right away. Wait here for me."
Then Evan Yang went inside, looked at the two captives, and said with a smile, "Sorry, I'll be going in your place."
At that moment, Special Envoy Victor Shi was furious, but unable to speak or contact anyone outside. Evan Yang seized the chance to infiltrate their organization and see what they were up to.
Evan Yang tossed the two captives into a treasure artifact, then came outside and said with a smile, "Alright, let's go."
"Let's go," Daniel Niu said, then led Evan Yang away. When Evan realized they'd arrived outside Five Gods Hall, he asked curiously, "Isn't this Five Gods Hall? Why are we here?"
"Oh? You know about Five Gods Hall? I thought you didn't," Daniel Niu laughed. Evan Yang chuckled, "Five Gods Hall is famous in the Chaos World—how could I not know about it?"
Daniel Niu smiled, "Actually, Five Gods Hall recently discovered a new passage. This passage leads directly to Stonevoid World, so now it's much easier for us to enter and exit than before."
"Oh, so that's how it is," Evan Yang replied with a smile, though he was curious inside—how did Stonevoid World end up connected to Five Gods Hall?
When Daniel Niu led Evan Yang to the portal, Evan realized it was the vortex he himself had opened with the Limitless Spear. There, many Five Gods Hall members stood guard. Daniel Niu said to them, "I'm going in—make way."
"Who are you?" someone asked.
"You don't need to know. Just let me through," Daniel Niu replied. The Five Gods Hall guards weren't about to let anyone in, so one of them snorted, "Dream on!"
"Looks like you need a lesson," Daniel Niu said. He proceeded to teach them a lesson, leaving the guards lying on the ground. He snorted, "Did you really think you could guard this passage? Let me tell you, this leads to Stonevoid World. Everyone who passes through is a top expert. With your abilities, you'd better leave—consider this friendly advice."
The guards glared angrily at Daniel Niu, but after he finished speaking, he turned to Evan Yang and said, "Come on, let's go in."
The two of them entered. Inside, Evan Yang saw a black pillar of light in the center of the space. Daniel Niu told him to stand with him in the center, and Evan followed suit. In a blink, the scene shifted—they had entered another world.
After stepping out, they found themselves in a vast world—one without planets, but much larger than Evan's own realm. At least for now, Evan couldn't see any boundaries.
Before him stretched a wide expanse. Scattered all over were various stones. Evan felt that his power flowed much faster here—at least hundreds of times faster than outside.
Evan Yang kept his thoughts about this unfamiliar Stonevoid World to himself—otherwise he might blow his cover. Daniel Niu saw Evan looking around and laughed, "Come on, it's not your first time here. What, still feel like a newbie?"
Evan Yang chuckled, "Not really. It's just that this place is so odd—even after a few visits, it still feels strange."
Daniel Niu laughed, "I get it. My first time here was like that too. Normally, you need at least five hundred strands of Heavenly Dao Intent to enter. But now, with this passage, it'll get lively—those freakish top experts can come and go freely, and even Heavenly Dao cultivators below the threshold can enter now."
"You mean the passage at Five Gods Hall?" Evan Yang asked.
"Yeah, that passage was only discovered recently. No one knows how Five Gods Hall managed it," Daniel Niu said with a smile.
Evan Yang muttered to himself, "Wasn't it me? How did the Limitless Spear open this passage anyway?"
"Alright, stop daydreaming. Let's go—the others in the organization are waiting for you!" Daniel Niu said with a smile. Evan Yang asked curiously, "There are others?"
"Of course. For this operation, all the Envoys scattered across the lands have been summoned. The goal is to start the first step of the world-ending plan," Daniel Niu explained.
"By the way, which step is Evan Yang in?" Evan Yang asked curiously. Daniel Niu laughed, "No idea—maybe he's the last step. He's the master's trump card. Only when he acts can things move forward. For now, we just do our best to nurture this oddball."
"Nurture him? Aren't you afraid that one day he'll get too strong and turn on everyone? What then?" Evan Yang asked with a laugh.
"Him? The Heaven-Cold Seed was given by the master. With a single thought, the master could kill him. He's just a killing machine—it's nothing," Daniel Niu said with a laugh.
Evan Yang smiled, but inside he thought, So they really think I'm their machine. He snorted inwardly, "Just wait until you're all taken out—I wonder what you'll do then."
Daniel Niu had no idea what Evan Yang was really thinking—he still thought Evan was Eric Song. Evan Yang laughed, "I was overthinking it."
Daniel Niu led Evan Yang away. After a long flight, they saw a chaotic cluster of stones, and ahead was a fortress built from massive rocks. From outside, it was impossible to see what was happening inside.
Evan Yang could sense countless divine senses sweeping past him from outside. He didn't dare slip up—if his identity was exposed here, it would be much harder to find the mastermind.
Inside, Evan Yang and Daniel Niu were brought to the second floor of the fortress, into a secret room. There were more than twenty people inside, all waiting. Evan waited with Daniel Niu. About half a day later, a figure of black smoke appeared at the door. He looked at everyone and said, "Welcome back."
Everyone greeted him respectfully, "Special Envoy Caleb Xiao."
"Alright, quiet down. I called you back to start our first operation: occupying key positions in the Chaos World," Special Envoy Caleb Xiao said.
"Key positions?" Evan Yang asked curiously. Special Envoy Caleb Xiao glanced at him and smiled, "Of course. These positions will be our bases in the future—each one is important, safe, and hard to find. I'll bring out the map of the Chaos World, and each of you will lead a team to occupy your spot and hold it for future use."
Evan Yang watched as Caleb Xiao brought out a huge map—densely covered with world-realms, making it hard to tell them apart.
Caleb Xiao marked each location one by one, then said to everyone, "Here are over a dozen points—I'll assign them to you."
Everyone memorized their location. Finally, Caleb Xiao said, "This mission is crucial. Once you've succeeded, develop your bases well—they'll be vital for the world-ending plan."
Evan Yang studied the marked points—they weren't random, and seemed to form a pattern. He couldn't figure it out yet, so he kept watching. After a while, everyone dispersed to carry out their tasks. Evan eyed Caleb Xiao; in his view, this man was no ordinary figure. Capturing him would be tough—he'd have to wait for his chance.
Like the others, Evan Yang left the fortress. He gradually parted ways with the group, stopping at a spot to watch the fortress from afar, thinking about how to deal with Caleb Xiao.
