"Alright!"
Leonard Wang nodded, then took out his phone and made a call. He spoke a few words in a low voice, hung up, and looked at Ian Song with contempt, saying, "Kid, if you kneel and apologize to my wife now, you might still make it in time. Otherwise, wait a bit longer, and even if you want to apologize, you won't get the chance!"
"I don't believe it!" Ian Song smiled and shook his head.
"Hmph!" Leonard Wang snorted coldly. "We'll see about that."
In the blink of an eye, ten minutes passed. Then, a young man wearing sunglasses strode toward the Chanel boutique with seven or eight people in tow.
"Boss Wang, who was so clueless as to offend you?" The young man in sunglasses took off his glasses and grinned at Leonard Wang.
Leonard Wang glanced at Ian Song.
Immediately, the young man's gaze shifted to Ian Song. He strode over and sneered, "Kid, so you're the one who offended Boss Wang!"
"So what if I did?" Ian Song replied coolly.
"Good question!"
Seeing Ian actually duck behind a woman, a few of the female sales associates in the store couldn't help but show a trace of disdain.
But Zoe Zhao knew Ian wasn't afraid at all. With his skills, how could he possibly fear a few ordinary thugs?
As that thought flashed through her mind, Zoe Zhao suddenly darted forward, her figure floating into the midst of the seven or eight gangsters. Her palms flew...
Bang! Bang!
Two of the thugs were sent flying on the spot. At the same time, Zoe Zhao stepped back twice, dodging two punches, then her legs shot out like springs.
Bang! Bang!
Two more were knocked flying.
In the next instant, Zoe Zhao lunged forward, swinging her arms out. With two heavy thuds, she hammered the chests of two more thugs, sending them flying right to Leonard Wang and his girlfriend’s feet. The woman shrieked in terror.
As for the last thug, the moment he met Zoe Zhao’s eyes, he lost his nerve and bolted.
Hmph!
Zoe Zhao curled her lip in disdain, her figure flashing as she caught up with him. She chopped his neck with a hand strike, and he collapsed, gloriously unconscious.
Just then, Mason Ding charged out, now brandishing a shiny dagger. Like a venomous snake, he silently stabbed at Zoe Zhao’s back.
"Watch out!"
One of the salesgirls couldn’t help but shout.
Thud!
The dagger grazed past Zoe Zhao, but at the same time, she whipped out a Divine Dragon Tail-Whip kick and sent Mason Ding flying.
"How was that?"
Zoe Zhao looked to Ian, seeking praise.
"Not bad! Sister Xiaoyu’s moves are getting sharper every day." Ian applauded.
"Glad you know how to talk!" Zoe Zhao grinned, then looked at Leonard Wang and his girlfriend. "Got more people? Call them all over! I’m just getting warmed up!"
Leonard Wang: "..."
Ten minutes later, Zoe Zhao dragged Ian into a men’s clothing store, picked out a casual suit, and tossed it to him: "Go change."
"Alright!"
Ian didn’t object, taking the suit into the fitting room.
When he came out, all the salesgirls' eyes lit up. One of them even said enviously to Zoe Zhao, "Miss, your boyfriend looks perfect in that outfit!"
"Really?" Zoe Zhao blushed slightly, feeling a bit sweet inside. She handed her bank card to the salesgirl. "Ring it up!"
Ian didn’t protest. Money was just a number to him, and with his relationship with Zoe Zhao, he wouldn’t quibble over the price of a suit.
After wandering the mall a bit longer, Ian and Zoe Zhao finally left together.
But as soon as they stepped outside, a van screeched to a stop in front of them. The door slid open, and two men with knives jumped out.
"Don’t move!"
One of the men pressed his blade to Ian’s neck. The other tried to do the same to Zoe Zhao, but she dodged, so he swung his knife at her instead.
Hmph!
While retreating, Zoe Zhao suddenly halted and whipped out a right-foot kick, striking the attacker’s wrist.
The knife flew from his hand with a clang, landing on the ground.
"Little lady, if you don’t want your boyfriend to die, you’d better behave!" The man holding Ian at knifepoint threatened coldly, seeing his partner’s knife kicked away.
With Ian’s skills, how could he possibly be held at knifepoint?
Zoe Zhao was a bit confused, but then noticed Ian winking at her. She instantly understood—he was doing this on purpose.
So she simply stopped resisting.
The two of them were shoved into the van, their hands and feet tied, black hoods pulled over their heads.
Half an hour later, the van drove into a warehouse at an abandoned factory on the outskirts.
In the center of the warehouse stood a wooden table. On either side sat a man—one was Leonard Wang, the other a slightly overweight, mustached middle-aged man whose beady eyes gleamed with a hint of cunning.
Mason Ding, the sunglasses-wearing thug who’d been schooled by Zoe Zhao earlier, now stood respectfully behind the middle-aged man, looking extremely deferential.
"Brother Ye, when will they arrive?" Leonard Wang suddenly asked.
"Don’t worry, Mr. Wang. Soon."
No sooner had the mustached man finished speaking than a group of men marched in, escorting a man and a woman.
"See, Mr. Wang? They’re here."
Leonard Wang burst out laughing. "Brother Ye, you really are something! No wonder you’re the number one man in Riverstone City!"
"Careful with your words, Mr. Wang! I’m not worthy of that title," Ethan Ye replied, his face serious and eyes full of caution.
Ethan Ye’s expression grew solemn, a distinct wariness flickering in his eyes.
"Did I say something wrong?" Leonard Wang asked, puzzled.
Ethan Ye paused before replying, "Mr. Wang, you’re not from our circle, so you might not know. In Riverstone City, both the legal and illegal worlds answer to the Nangong Family. I, Ethan Ye, am just scraping by under their umbrella."
