Lucy by the Celestial Empress

"It's been so long since I've seen her beautiful face. I wonder how she's doing now..." said Louis Lin.

Quentin Chin sighed, "Ah! Poor girl. His Highness the Crown Prince has completely forgotten about her, and with the two of us gone, I bet no one's even mentioned her to him..."

...

The two of them just straight-up ignored her and started chatting away.

Grace called out again, "Louis Lin! Quentin Chin!"

This time, both men turned to look at her.

Then, together, they stopped what they were doing and stood up.

"Hey? I think I see Grace Lawrence too!" Quentin Chin said. "Did you see her? She's with Grandpa Gene!"

"I saw her..." Louis Lin's eyes glazed over a little.

"I'm Grace Lawrence, you saw right, and you're not dreaming." Grace said, a little bittersweet. "I came with Grandpa Gene to check on you both."

"Is it really you, Grace Lawrence?" Louis Lin was overjoyed. "How... how do you know Grandpa Gene the High Saint?"

"Can we go somewhere quieter to talk?" Grace asked. "It's so noisy here with all the clanging!"

"Of course! Of course!" both men replied cheerfully. "Let's go! We'll talk up there."

Then, the two of them turned into streaks of light and flew up to the top of the pit.

Only now did Grace realize—they were both immortals too.

Quentin Chin was actually a High Saint, and Louis Lin was a half-immortal at the Spirit Lord realm.

Once they reached the hillside above the big pit, Grace said, "I met Grandpa Gene the High Saint through Master Sage Dao, and Grandpa Gene brought me to Drake Abyss. How have you two been holding up?"

"Ah! What good can come of being here?" Quentin Chin said. "If you survive twenty years without dying, you still get your skin peeled off!"

Grace frowned, "I'm sorry. It's all my fault you ended up here."

"How is this your fault?" Louis Lin said. "If you want to blame someone, blame the villain who cursed His Highness the Crown Prince!"

Grace frowned and nodded.

"Grace Lawrence, have you found out who cursed His Highness the Crown Prince?"

Grace replied, "I've only found a few clues, but nothing definite yet."

The clue was what Sophie Shang mentioned—it had something to do with Nina Sanders from the Qilin Divine Clan.

"If I ever find out who it was, I'll make them taste the quarry life! Two hundred years of hard labor, until their spirit power runs dry!" Louis Lin said angrily.

"I'm treating the Celestial Empress right now. If I get a chance, I'll plead for you two so you can go home early," Grace said.

Quentin Chin said with delight, "Thank you so much, Grace Lawrence!"

Louis Lin was also thrilled, "I can't believe how fast you've improved, Grace Lawrence! Your cultivation and healing skills are amazing—you're even treating the Celestial Empress! Grace Lawrence, you're our savior!"

Grace smiled, "So you two have to take good care of yourselves."

"Of course! Of course!" They both nodded vigorously.

"Oh, right." Grace suddenly remembered something and asked, "When His Highness was cursed, I once overheard you two saying he was engaged to Princess Luminia of the Phoenix Clan. What's up with that?"

Back then, hearing that made her feel awful, and she kept provoking Evan Xiao because of it.

Eventually, he completely lost it.

"Oh, that! Lucy, the Celestial Empress's steward, told me," Quentin Chin said. "I totally believed her at the time, but later it turned out to be nothing. I have no idea why she said that..."

Grace's eyes narrowed slightly. "Lucy, the Celestial Empress's steward?"

"That's right!" Both men nodded.
