The Plan to Undermine from Within Succeeds

Cecilia Gu froze, stunned.

Is there a second young master in the Yin Family?

Isn't Charles Yin the only grandson and heir of the Yin Family?

When did another young master suddenly appear in the Yin Family?

Even though Cecilia Gu felt confused, she still agreed, "Yes, Grandma, I will! As soon as I return to the country, I'll come straight home."

Grandma Evelyn Yin looked very satisfied.

Aside from a hint of regret, Grandma Evelyn Yin was actually quite pleased with her eldest grandson's wife.

So, she didn't mind using this opportunity to show some goodwill toward her grandson.

"Alright, there will be a lot of guests at home when the time comes. You and Charles should discuss things carefully and make sure not to be disrespectful." Grandma Evelyn Yin said, "Your measurements are all on record at home—clothes, shoes, jewelry, everything is already set for you. You don't need to worry about a thing. You're pregnant now, so just focus on staying happy. Oh, and all the documents have been prepared; someone will deliver them to you in the next couple of days. You just need to sign them."

"Grandma, what documents?" Cecilia asked, looking confused.

"The bride price I promised you—I'll give it to you in advance. It's always better to have extra money on hand when you're away. Since this child is a boy, I'm giving you an additional five percent stake in Yin Enterprises as a special gift for my great-grandson." Grandma Evelyn Yin replied.

Cecilia was even more confused.

What... is going on?

It's only been a few days—why does it feel like the whole world has changed?

Wait, what did Grandma just say?

Five percent stake in Yin Enterprises!

Oh my god! Five percent!

What does this five percent mean?

It means she could join the Board of Directors!

But why was the Yin Family suddenly being so generous to her?

Cecilia hung up the phone, still completely unable to figure it out.

Could it be that Charles Yin did something behind the scenes?

She just couldn't wrap her head around it.

Grandma Evelyn Yin moved incredibly fast, probably to show Charles Yin her sincerity.

That very night, a helicopter was sent straight from Yin Manor and landed on the deck of the cruise ship.

Grandma Evelyn Yin's assistant personally came to deliver the documents for Cecilia to sign.

Cecilia was still in a daze as she signed the papers.

Did she really... just suddenly become rich?

And not just rich—filthy rich?

It all felt so surreal!

Grandma Evelyn Yin's assistant smiled at Cecilia and said, "Mrs. Yin, don't play too long. The old lady is really thinking about you!"

"Thank you. Please let Grandma know I'll be home in a couple of days." Cecilia replied with a smile. "Thank you for coming all this way just for me."

"It's nothing. When the old lady gives an order, I have to obey! Mrs. Yin, I'll head back now. Your documents are officially in effect, and from this moment, you're a member of the Board of Directors. Goodbye." The assistant nodded and took his leave.

Cecilia watched as the helicopter disappeared over the ocean, still in shock.

"Cici, what just happened?" Rona Muir was still in shock. "How did you suddenly become a member of the Board of Directors at Yin Enterprises? What on earth happened?"

"I have no idea either," Cecilia replied, still confused. "Grandma called me, said it was a reward, and then just gave it to me! Rona, how much is five percent of the shares worth?"

Rona nearly fell over. "What did you say? Chairman Yin gave you five percent of the shares?"

Cecilia nodded blankly. "Yeah! Why?"

"Hahahaha! Cici, congratulations!" Rona exclaimed, slapping Cecilia on the shoulder, even more excited than Cecilia herself. "From now on, no one will dare to bully you so openly!"

What does that even mean?

Sophie Mo's expression was unreadable as she quietly said, "Rona's right. From now on, no one will dare to bully you! Do you know what five percent of the shares means? Even Charles Yin only controls fifty-five percent, and that's with absolute majority. The Yin Family holds ten percent in bearer shares, Grandma Evelyn Yin has ten percent, and the rest is spread among other shareholders."

Cecilia still looked confused. "I don't get it. Can you put it simply?"

"To put it simply, Cecilia, overnight you became worth over ten billion." Rona Muir said, slapping Cecilia on the shoulder.

Over ten billion!

Cecilia felt like she was about to faint.

Was she dreaming or something?

"So how much money does Charles Yin have?" Cecilia suddenly wondered.

"That's a tough question!" Rona Muir replied, shaking her head.

"I can answer that." Sean Kerr's voice rang out from a distance.

Cecilia looked over and saw Sean Kerr with a complicated expression.

"I never thought Charles Yin would go this far for you. Cecilia, you were right—I'm nothing compared to Charles. I don't even know how to love." Sean Kerr stared at Rona Muir, but spoke to Cecilia: "Yin Enterprises' assets are conservatively estimated at two trillion, not counting the Middle East, Africa, or Europe. Those assets are incalculable. Just the companies under Yin Enterprises worldwide add up to that much. So, with five percent of the shares, your net worth should be a hundred billion, not just ten billion."

Cecilia felt like she couldn't breathe!

She was dying—why did she suddenly have so much money?

"Congratulations, Cecilia," Sean Kerr said with a bitter smile. "Sylvia Ran isn't your rival anymore! You win!"

Huh? What does that mean now?

Rona Muir slapped Cecilia on the shoulder again. "With this five percent stake, you're a member of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Yin would never let you join the rival camp. Even if she likes Sylvia Ran, she has to win you over for the sake of the company. In other words, with your shares and voting rights, even your mother-in-law won't make things difficult for you! Charles Yin really played this well! That's just his style—if he makes a move, it's always ruthless."

Cecilia was still confused—she couldn't figure out what this had to do with Charles Yin at all.

A trace of regret flashed in Sophie Mo's eyes.

No one expected Charles Yin to act so quickly. In just a few days, he pulled the rug out from under Mrs. Yin, completely shifting her attention.

No wonder my brother always said Charles Yin is a formidable opponent you should never underestimate!

"Cecilia, you probably don't realize how important board votes are, do you? It's okay, you'll understand one day. This really is a good thing—no one will make things hard for you anymore." Sophie Mo smiled faintly, genuinely happy for Cecilia Gu. "Mrs. Yin won't force you two to divorce now. In fact, she'll even try to stop it. Sylvia Ran is no longer a threat to you. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to admire Charles Yin's tactics. He actually convinced Grandma Evelyn Yin to intervene, and even got her to willingly give you shares. His skills are way beyond anything I could pull off."

Cecilia finally understood. "So all of this... was Charles Yin's doing?"

"Who else did you think it was?" For once, the three of them answered Cecilia's question in perfect sync.

Cecilia was stunned.

Charles Yin, what did you have to sacrifice for all this?

What kind of price did you pay to resolve this crisis so completely?

Charles Yin, how am I supposed to treat you now...

Sean Kerr spoke sincerely to Rona Muir, "Can we have a serious talk? I know exactly where I went wrong. Would you hear me out before you pass judgment?"

Rona Muir was momentarily speechless, just staring at Sean Kerr.

Cecilia smiled, grabbed Sophie Mo's hand, and pulled her away. "Sophie, come on, let's go brainstorm tomorrow's competition menu. I found some great recipes—let's try them out!"

"Okay." Sophie Mo replied softly, following Cecilia out.

The two of them deliberately left to give the others space to talk things through.

"Cecilia, what are you planning to do?" Sophie Mo asked.

"I honestly don't know," Cecilia replied, her eyes downcast. "I'm just taking it one step at a time. My head's still a mess. It all feels like a dream. Look, yesterday Sylvia Ran and I were at each other's throats, but tonight I'm told she's lost her leverage. Everything changed so fast! I can't keep up."

"Yeah, things changed way too fast," Sophie Mo sighed.

She'd put in so much effort, but never expected Charles Yin to go straight for the kill!

Charles Yin, you ruthless genius!

The news that Cecilia Gu had received five percent of Grandma Evelyn Yin's anonymous shares spread like wildfire across the country.

Mrs. Yin suddenly snapped to her senses!

It was her mother-in-law—Grandma Evelyn Yin—using Cecilia Gu to put her in her place!

"How dare she..." Mrs. Yin exploded, sweeping everything off the table in a fit of rage!

From now on, not only could she not force Cecilia and Charles to divorce—she had to do everything in her power to keep them together!

Because the one thing she couldn't stand was outsiders getting a piece of the Yin Family fortune!

Everything had to belong to her son!

No outsider would ever get a share!

But if she couldn't force Cecilia and Charles to divorce, what would happen to Sylvia Ran?

Mrs. Yin felt even more stifled.

In the Yin Family's old mansion, Grandma Evelyn Yin sipped her tea unhurriedly. When her assistant returned, she looked up and asked, "Is everything taken care of?"

"Yes, Madam," the assistant replied with a light laugh. "Young Madam looked so confused—it was honestly pretty funny."

Grandma Evelyn Yin sighed. "My grandson really takes after his grandfather. That old man was so scheming, even I wasn't safe from his plots. But this is exactly what we wanted, isn't it?"

"Yes, Madam, you're wise as ever," the assistant replied.

"Wise? Hardly. I just figured, since she dislikes Cecilia so much, I'd put Cecilia right in front of her. I want her to understand that in the Yin Family, it's not her place to call the shots." Grandma Evelyn Yin said with authority.
