Chapter 639: Hand of Destruction
Even knowing that a powerful enemy awaited ahead and that now was not the time for reluctance, Anderson couldn't help but show a pained expression. The way he looked at Leon was like a parent staring at a hopelessly wasteful child.
A simple and crude defensive alchemical array—Leon finished its setup in just two minutes. Afterward, he hesitated for a moment, then took out the Adamantine Reliquary he had obtained for the first time, removed the key inside, and used the reliquary as raw material, adding it to the defensive array.
The array was so basic and rough that it only served a defensive purpose. Any alchemy apprentice would have scoffed at it, as if it were an insult to the noble profession of alchemist.
But right now, there was no time to waste—everything was done for the sake of buying time.
Once the array was in place, Leon finally turned around and began to examine the narrow cabin before him.
This cabin was unlike the others; inside, a chaotic heap of cannon-like objects was piled up.
All of these cannons were forged from magical metals. The smaller ones were over three meters long and half a meter thick, while the larger ones stretched seven or eight meters, with a diameter of more than a meter.
The number of alchemical runes and arrays etched onto them was downright outrageous. Every available surface was covered—there wasn't a single spot wasted.
"When that monster comes after us, you must hold the line."
With those words, Leon summoned both Death Knight Ragulin and Lich Barton. Ragulin had completely consumed Winchester's Soul Fire and advanced to level thirty-seven.
Unfortunately, Leon only spared them a glance before focusing all his attention on the cannons.
These cannons forged from magical metals were called Mana Crystal Cannons, powered by Mana Crystals or monster cores.
Originally, it was the Titan Dwarves who drew inspiration from the goblins and created these war machines.
By adding Mana Crystals, the Mana Crystal Cannon would channel and extract energy, concentrating it into a pure magical blast—brute force at its finest. Even dragons would think twice before taking a direct hit.
Leon knew that monster was tenacious; if it kept chasing them, they'd eventually be worn down. Now that he knew the USS Dauntless itself was built around a Sky Rank Alchemical Array, he couldn't afford to let that thing pursue them any longer.
It was too dangerous—the Dauntless itself was even more perilous than that monster. Who knew what kind of bizarre traps might be triggered if they tried to run?
A Sky Rank Alchemical Array!
If anything powerful got activated—even just a fraction of it—it would be enough to kill them ten times over in an instant!
After reviewing the structural blueprints, this gun deck became Leon's top priority.
The Mana Crystal Cannons here were definitely not low-grade—they were listed on the blueprints as one of the USS Dauntless’s key external defenses!
These Mana Crystal Cannons were the strongest batch on the Dauntless—also the best-preserved.
Leon took out a Tier-25 Mana Crystal, repeatedly slotting it into the grooves of each cannon to test their condition.
After checking a few, all of them turned out to be broken—except for a massive cannon hidden in the back.
A pile of obviously damaged cannons was stacked together, but a thick barrel with a diameter of one and a half meters poked out from the mess.
Leon’s eyes lit up instantly.
He summoned a few Stone Golems with immense strength to toss aside the broken cannons. In no time, a gigantic cannon—nine meters long and one and a half meters thick—was revealed.
The cannon was anchored to the cabin, with a turret over ten meters wide below it. Its body gleamed black-violet, and the dark, cavernous muzzle radiated a terrifying aura.
Leon barely glanced at it before lunging forward, stuffing the Tier-25 Mana Crystal into the groove without hesitation.
Threads of magical energy began to flow, and the alchemical runes on the cannon lit up one after another.
"Damn! There's a Hand of Destruction in here—a superweapon! And it's still operational!"
Leon’s eyes went bloodshot. He swallowed hard, genuinely shaken.
Hand of Destruction—a true artifact of war!
At the peak of magical civilization, the main cannons on the most powerful Arcane Battleships were all Hands of Destruction.
The name 'Hand of Destruction' comes from one of the mightiest beings of the God-Demon Era—the Destroyer Lord.
The Hand of Destruction’s greatest power rivals that of the Destroyer Lord’s own hand!
That’s saying something—the Destroyer Lord was one of the five strongest Elder Gods and Demons, possibly even top three among the seventy-two. Some claim his strength was unmatched.
Legend has it, the Destroyer Lord once used a single hand to erase an entire city from Northend World during the God-Demon Era.
That story has been passed down for countless generations.
And the Hand of Destruction’s power is said to match that of the Destroyer Lord’s own hand!
