The figure moved with incredible speed—Evan Chu judged it to be about as fast as his own Shifting Position technique. This person was, of course, the student they called Third Brother.
"You can't beat him. Didn't you notice he's deliberately toying with you?" Third Brother said to Warren Wang.
"No way, I don't think he's that strong. Third Brother, are you sure you're not mistaken?" Warren Wang asked suspiciously.
"Kid, who the hell are you? Was all that chaos here earlier your doing? If you answer straight, maybe I'll let you die with a whole corpse!" Third Brother barked at Evan Chu.
Evan Chu looked at the youth in front of him and smiled. "If I'm not mistaken, you're from the Sea Dragon Academy Honors Class, right? How many of you came this time?"
Evan Chu's words shocked the other side. The appearance of an Honors Class student in the ordinary hunting grounds was supposed to be top secret, yet this kid exposed it with a single sentence—clearly, he'd run into others before.
There was only one possible explanation: he had escaped from someone else, or maybe he'd killed other Honors Class students. But the youth believed the former—after all, Evan Chu's current strength didn't seem that impressive.
He was surprised inside, but his face showed no trace of panic. "You sure know a lot. Too bad the only outcome for you is death!"
He practically shouted the word 'death,' and as soon as the words left his mouth, he lunged straight at Evan Chu.
Evan Chu saw clearly that this guy's hands were covered in golden gloves, each fingertip tipped with a long spike. It looked like the gloves themselves were his weapon—pretty bizarre, honestly.
Evan Chu didn’t dare get careless. He instantly unleashed Shifting Position, dodging at high speed—this guy’s attacks were vicious, so caution was a must.
“Not bad speed! But you’re still a bit slow compared to me.” The youth laughed, his ambush dodged by Evan.
“Oh, really? Then show me what you’ve got!” Evan was stunned inside—his Shifting Position was actually slower than the other guy’s? He could hardly believe it.
No sooner had Evan spoken than the youth appeared right in front of him. His speed was freakishly fast and strange, and once again he struck out with his palm.
Evan dodged again in a flash, but when he glanced down, he saw several tears in the fabric over his chest. If not for his tough physique, that attack might’ve actually hurt him.
He’d been nearly a foot away, yet the guy still managed to slash his clothes—his power was brutal, and his speed was incredible. For a moment, Evan had no idea how to fight back.
After two quick Shifting Position dodges, Evan flashed twenty meters away. Frostbane trembled in his grip—he’d have to use his trump card against this guy.
Heart Sword didn’t take long to prepare. The youth saw Evan retreat and hurried after him.
But when he was still five meters away, he saw a rusty longsword shooting straight for him—thrown like a hidden weapon.
The youth halted, his palms flashing in front of his chest. He knew this sudden sword strike was no joke, and instantly flooded his defense with powerful star force, sealing himself up tight.
He figured that no matter how strong this Heavenly Dragon Academy guy was, there was no way he could break through this defense—defense was his specialty.
The gloves on his hands weren’t ordinary—they’d been forged by clan elders from Deepsea Crystal and Blackiron Crystal, and paired with his family’s Spirit-Blood Palm technique, could block a full-force blow from someone two whole realms above him.
No matter how strong this kid was, there was no way he had Earth Martial seventh-layer strength. With his own Earth Martial fifth-layer cultivation, he was sure he could handle it.
Evan saw the guy frantically tracing patterns on his chest and couldn’t help but wonder—could that really block his Heart Sword? Wasn’t he overestimating himself?
“Don’t get careless, Linfeng! His defense is even tougher than yours. Kill him quickly—don’t underestimate him!” Luna’s urgent voice sounded in Evan’s mind.
Evan trusted Luna completely and poured everything into controlling Frostbane. In a flash, the sword reached his opponent—but, shockingly, it was stopped mid-air, suspended.
Even Heart Sword couldn’t break through—this guy’s defense really was something else, Evan thought to himself.
Watching from afar, Rhea Yang and the others were stunned—someone had actually blocked Evan’s flying sword. Their view of the Sea Dragon Academy student changed completely.
“Heh! Boss’s flying sword is scary—I’ve taken it myself. I bet this guy won’t last two minutes before Boss cuts him down,” Sterling Yates whispered confidently.
“Of course! You know who Boss is. But that Sea Dragon punk’s pretty tough—even blocked that sword. If it were me, I’d be toast,” another student chimed in.
“Keep it down, everyone. If Linfeng’s in danger, we rush out immediately. So what if Sea Dragon Academy has more people? No need to be scared!” Lily Tang spoke up, her concern for Evan obvious.
“Yeah, we’ll do whatever Sister-in-law says!” Simon Driftwind suddenly chimed in.
Lily’s cheeks flushed instantly. That guy actually said something so embarrassing—it was infuriating, but deep down, she didn’t really mind.
She snuck a glance at Rhea Yang, only to find her grinning knowingly, making Lily feel even more embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Evan was still pouring his mind into controlling Frostbane. The drain was immense—his Chaos Qi felt like it was turning into mental power and steadily running dry.
Sweat began to bead on his forehead. Evan was feeling it, but the Sea Dragon Academy youth across from him was struggling even more.
Frostbane’s sword qi forced the opponent to whirl his arms at top speed. In less than a minute, more than half his stellar force was gone, and his clothes were soaked in sweat.
He couldn’t help but think, “Who the hell is this kid? How does he attack like this? It’s as if the sword is controlled by an invisible hand—terrifying.”
If this kept up, he’d be completely spent in five minutes, and Evan would cut him down. Still, he was sure this move also burned through Evan’s stellar force—maybe he was already at his limit.
Even so, he kept moving, eyes locked on Evan, hoping to spot any sign of exhaustion.
Evan had no other choice—he just had to drain the opponent’s stellar force and finish him. At the same time, his longing for higher-tier martial arts grew stronger than ever.
Just then, Luna’s voice rang out: “Linfeng, his stellar force is almost gone. Push harder…”
