"It's just a simple trial, that's all."
Evan Lin shook his head, not taking it to heart.
Miss Stitch's expression turned a bit ugly. Seeing Evan Lin's completely unresponsive attitude, she simply stopped talking.
The group continued forward.
Gradually, the people around lost interest in Evan Lin.
As they moved deeper, drawing closer to the Path-Trial Tournament grounds, the atmosphere grew somewhat tense.
"Up ahead is the venue for this Path-Trial Tournament. Wait here. In a moment, you fifty will be joining our Locke Family's twenty disciples for the trial."
Mason Locke spoke in a flat tone, glancing at the people behind him. "Among you, the strongest are probably around fourth-grade Vajra, which is decent, but compared to our Locke Family disciples, you're still far behind."
"So you'd better stand quietly here and don't cause trouble! Stay silent! Otherwise, our Locke Family will just kick you out!"
Mason Locke carried himself with arrogance, his gaze filled with disdain.
He didn't look up to any of the people behind him at all.
"A guy at peak inner strength acting this cocky?" Warren Hu looked irritated.
"Nothing you can do about it. The Locke Family rarely appears in public, but whenever one of them does, they're basically always Vajra or above."
"The Locke Family's patriarch is even a powerhouse at the Profound-Realm level. Rumor has it he once chased a first-grade Vajra called Mo Yang and nearly killed him. With him around, who would dare mess with the Locke Family?"
Hearing Mason's words, some people looked displeased, but most didn't have the guts to talk back.
After all, their goal was to pass the trial and get a shot at becoming real Locke Family members.
"You humiliated Mason Locke earlier. I bet he'll try to trip you up later."
A man about one-sixty-five tall suddenly appeared beside Evan Lin, staring straight ahead and speaking in a flat tone. It sounded like he was talking to Evan, but he never actually looked at him: "From what I know, the Locke Family is fiercely protective. You might get ambushed in the trial."
His voice never wavered from start to finish. He was clearly a hot-blooded guy, but he gave off a cold, detached vibe.
"There's no one out there who can kill me."
