Sunrise City, inside an abandoned factory.
A young man in his early twenties stared nervously at the empty air in front of him. To anyone else, there was nothing there, but in his eyes, three silver treasure chests floated before him.
Which one should I pick?
Gavin Xu stared at the three silver treasure chests, his face twisted in indecision.
He’d been in this world for almost a month, and only today did he finally have a chance to solve his identity problem.
Inside one of these three chests was a Substitution Card. If he drew it, he could replace someone in this world and survive using their identity.
He remembered that when he first arrived, he hadn’t taken the locals of this world seriously at all.
After all, he had the Livestream System. With the Livestream System, he could earn skills and various items by streaming.
But unexpectedly, the moment he set foot on the street, he was chased by special police.
With his abilities, handling a few special police officers should’ve been no problem. Unfortunately, another System Host was in that city too—and the other guy’s powers were just plain monstrous.
After being brutally beaten, Gavin managed to escape using an item, then arrived in Sunrise City, where he hid in this abandoned factory, waiting for the once-every-three-months lottery.
The Livestream System he’d obtained had two lottery options.
One was the natural lottery: every three months, the system would grant a free draw.
The second was the paid lottery, which required earning Livestream Points through streaming, then spending points to draw. Unfortunately, drawing with points cost a lot, and just before crossing over, he’d used up most of his points in several draws.
So after arriving in this world, he didn’t have enough Livestream Points for even one draw and could only wait for the three-month natural lottery.
With the points he had left, he locked onto a Substitution Card.
But the odds were still only one in three.
Just as Gavin was struggling with the decision, his expression suddenly changed—he sensed that the guy who’d hunted him before was closing in fast.
“Damn, how did he find me here!” Gavin muttered angrily, then quickly tapped the leftmost silver chest.
A flash of light erupted—the three silver chests vanished, replaced by a single golden card lying where the left chest had been.
A burst of light flashed—the three silver chests vanished, but where the left chest had been, a golden card appeared!
"Holy crap! It's the Substitution Card!"
Gavin grabbed the golden card, his heart surging with joy.
"Gotta get out of here!" he muttered to himself.
Without hesitation, he pulled a black Teleportation Card from his Masterwork Storage Ring. The card glowed, enveloping him in light, and with a sharp 'whoosh,' Gavin disappeared from the factory.
Ten breaths later, Henry Xia materialized, his expression twisted in frustration as he stared at the empty, abandoned factory. "Damn it, that guy slipped away again!"
His name was Henry Xia—another System Host. But the system he’d obtained was the Level-Up System: as long as he kept killing living beings, his own power would keep leveling up.
Leveling up boosted his strength and speed, with no upper limit. Sometimes, killing would even drop various treasures.
By now, he’d already crossed four worlds—this Federation city was his fifth.
He was now so powerful that killing ordinary people couldn’t level him up anymore.
When he was teleported here, he happened to run into another System Host, so he ambushed him.
Unexpectedly, that guy managed to escape.
So for the next month, he kept searching for that guy’s whereabouts. Just as he found him, the guy escaped again.
Whoosh!
A shadow flickered—Gavin appeared directly on the streets of Plumridge City.
Damn!
As soon as he landed on the street, he hurriedly pulled on an Invisibility Cloak, then sprinted off in one direction.
Near the end of the workday, Ryan Zhou suddenly sent someone to call Ian Song.
When Ian arrived at the meeting room, he found that aside from Ryan Zhou and Leon Liu, all the other battalion captains and vice-captains were present.
Is something big happening again?
After Ian Song took his seat next to Leon Liu, Minister Harvey Zhang entered the meeting room.
Everyone, please watch a video.
Harvey Zhang said gravely. Then, a video appeared at the front of the meeting room.
The video was shot by SkyGrid, right on Sycamore Street in Plumridge City. Suddenly, a slightly disheveled man appeared out of thin air, pulled out a black cloak, put it on, and then vanished again.
Teleportation and invisibility!
As soon as Ian saw the video, he understood what was going on—it was probably another System Host in Plumridge City.
Once the video ended, Harvey Zhang looked even more serious.
After this mysterious man appeared, our special police mobilized, but so far, we haven’t found any trace of him.
Like they’d ever find him!
Any System Host who can cross into this world is no pushover—there’s no way ordinary special police could catch him.
But Ian’s mind was already spinning: kill another host to seize his system.
He just didn’t know what kind of system the guy had.
Finally, Harvey Zhang ordered a full-scale search for the mysterious youth, but the operation had to be kept secret. After all, even the strongest Psychic Adept couldn’t pull off true invisibility.
On a street in Plumridge City, a young man in black walked along, eyes full of curiosity. He muttered, “I can finally walk openly on the street!”
This person was Gavin Xu. After escaping with the Invisibility Cloak, he found someone and used the Substitution Card.
Then, he became that person and gained all his memories.
The person he replaced was named Ethan Zhang.
After the meeting, Ian and Ryan Zhou had dinner together.
During dinner, the two just chatted casually—they didn’t discuss anything else.
Three days passed in a flash. Ian received word from Keiko Yamaguchi that Lynn Ning’s Identity Card was ready.
With the Identity Card, Lynn Ning could finally walk openly on the streets.
If she knew the news, she’d definitely be thrilled.
Getting her Identity Card was worth celebrating, so Ian cooked up a huge meal.
Night fell.
Ian and Lynn Ning walked arm-in-arm through the streets.
Lynn Ning was endlessly curious about everything in this world.
They wandered the streets for two full hours before heading back to their new home—a small villa worth around two million credits.
“Husband, this world is completely different from our old one.”
Back home, Lynn Ning was still full of wonder.
Late at night, after Lynn Ning fell asleep, Ian slipped out of the villa.
He used the Art of Great Teleportation to sweep through the city. As long as the System Host was still here, and hosts could sense each other, he’d be able to find him easily.
Found him!
After his fifth teleport, Ian felt a strange resonance.
Damn!
In a villa somewhere, Gavin Xu—eating dinner with his new parents—suddenly changed expression.
Mom, Dad, I’m full. I’m going back to my room!
Gavin hurried back to his room, pulled out a Teleportation Card, and vanished.
