Entering the Manor

“Isn’t that right? You guys shouldn’t be fooled by how low-key Summer Mu usually acts—he’s actually the one most likely to inherit the entire Summer family’s business empire.” Calvin Zhou chuckled and glanced at the crowd of pretty girls nearby. “Ladies, you’d better seize your chance. Whether you can marry into a wealthy family—all depends on tonight.”

“Young Master Chuan, you’re so annoying.” The girls giggled behind their hands, glancing at Calvin Zhou, then stealing a few looks at Summer Mu.

Their gazes towards Summer Mu had already changed.

On the other side, Calvin Zhou wore a cold smirk. Then he spotted Evan Lin standing next to Summer Mu, raised his eyebrows, and said with a fake smile, “I wonder which family this young master is from? You do dress pretty casually.”

Calvin Zhou sized up Evan Lin, and the people nearby also turned to look at him. After scanning Evan’s clothes, quite a few couldn’t help but speculate about his identity.

Being able to stand next to Summer Mu—even if his clothes weren’t impressive—his status probably wasn’t bad. A few of the slightly less attractive women were already considering if they should try to get close to Evan Lin.

After all, Summer Mu was still pretty far out of their reach.

“Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin, my friend,” Summer Mu introduced.

“Evan Lin? Last name Lin?” Calvin Zhou grinned. “I don’t think there’s any big Lin family in River City. Maybe this guy’s from Brightsea?”

Without waiting for Evan to reply, Calvin Zhou kept going: “But a small place like Brightsea City could never produce any real big shots.”

The moment Calvin Zhou said that, all the women who’d been interested in Evan Lin instantly cooled off—no one cared anymore.

“Summer Mu, let me give you some advice. No matter what, you’re still a member of the Summer family. When you make friends, you should always look at their family background first. Don’t get too close to people from small places.” Calvin Zhou spoke earnestly, putting on the airs of a senior. “And I heard you’re chasing some girl? But she’s not interested in you? If that gets out, people will laugh themselves silly. Don’t you think so?”

Summer Mu’s expression darkened, while Calvin Zhou smirked. The others nearby looked at Summer Mu with mocking faces.

“Noisy.”

Evan Lin, who had been silent so far, glanced at Calvin Zhou and spat out two cold words.

“What did you say?” Calvin Zhou froze for a moment, clearly not expecting Evan Lin—someone he saw as a nobody—to dare speak up!

This bumpkin only got in because of Summer Mu—what right did he have to speak up?

“Hey, kid, do you know where you are? Do you know who you’re talking to? Who gave you the guts to speak to Chuan Bro like that?” The tall guy next to Calvin Zhou stepped forward, and without another word, swung a slap straight at Evan Lin.

“This slap’s on behalf of Chuan Bro!”

The guy sneered—he’d trained in boxing for years, and his hands packed a punch.

Summer Mu’s face changed—he hadn’t expected the guy to suddenly attack. By the time he tried to block for Evan Lin, it was already too late.

“Courting death.” Evan Lin narrowed his eyes and raised his foot.

His kick was lightning fast—Calvin Zhou’s group didn’t even see Evan move before a heavy thud rang out. The tall guy was sent flying, landing five or six meters away in the fountain, splashing water everywhere.

“You actually dared to fight back!” Calvin Zhou stared at Evan Lin in disbelief, his face dark as night.

The guy Evan Lin had kicked into the fountain finally crawled onto the shore, looking utterly miserable. The commotion drew everyone’s attention.

“Why wouldn’t I dare?” Evan Lin raised an eyebrow, let out a cold snort, stepped forward, and clawed out with his right hand, grabbing Calvin Zhou’s collar in a vise-like grip.

“Chuan Bro!”

“Young Master Zhou!”

“What are you doing!”

“Security! Security!”

Calvin Zhou’s crew saw Evan Lin’s move and their faces instantly changed.

Calvin Zhou’s eyes flickered—he tried to break free, but Evan Lin’s grip on his collar felt like an iron clamp!

“Kid! Don’t think I won’t make sure you leave here in pieces tonight!” Calvin Zhou’s face flushed red, especially under all the shocked stares—he felt like his face was on fire.

In their circle, the most valuable thing wasn’t money—it was face.

But being grabbed in public like a chick—Calvin Zhou felt he’d lost all his dignity!

“Personally, I’m more inclined to believe you’ll pay for your words—with a mouthful of teeth.” Evan Lin sneered coldly.

“What did you say?”

Calvin Zhou was stunned by Evan’s words.

Before he could react, Evan Lin’s left hand whipped out in a backhand slap, the back of his hand landing squarely on Calvin Zhou’s face.

The instant Evan’s hand connected, Calvin Zhou’s face twisted out of shape. His eyes widened, head snapped to the side, and a wave of agony shot through his mouth. He opened up, and several blood-streaked teeth flew out instantly.

Before Calvin Zhou could recover, Evan Lin’s left hand followed up with a forehand slap.

Smack!

Another slap!

Calvin Zhou’s head, just knocked to the left, snapped back to the right with this slap—three more bloodied teeth flew out.

Then a backhand—two more teeth.

Smack!

Forehand—four more teeth.

Smack!

...

More than ten slaps in a row, each one echoing loud and clear.

Every slap sent more teeth flying.

Calvin Zhou’s crew turned pale as ghosts, completely stunned by what they saw—no one dared step in to stop Evan Lin.

These guys were happy to ride the wave when things were good, but when it came to sticking their necks out—nobody was stupid enough for that.

Not far away, five or six burly security guards in green uniforms rushed over. Well-trained and solidly built, they wore determined looks.

You didn’t get to be a guard here unless you could really throw down.

They saw Evan Lin still slapping Calvin Zhou, glanced at his plain clothes, and charged in without a word, fists raised straight at Evan.

Evan Lin snorted coldly, gave Calvin Zhou one last slap, then let go. With that final blow, Calvin spat out eleven teeth at once and tumbled away.

Evan didn’t even spare a glance at the now toothless Calvin Zhou—he simply turned around and threw a punch.

No fancy moves—just a straight punch that collided mid-air with the burly guard’s fist!

With a thunderous crash, the massive guard’s momentum instantly vanished—he rolled backward, crashing into the four guards behind him, sending them all sprawling to the ground.

One punch dropped the whole squad.
