Rescuing the Two Women

1/19/2026

Evan Chu's actions left everyone who stayed behind utterly shocked. Who could have guessed that this plain-looking middle-aged man would wield such terrifying divine fire? They'd all underestimated him.

Meanwhile, Blue-Shade God-Venerable had already slain those two God-Emperor powerhouses. In front of a late-stage God-Venerable, so-called God-Emperors were nothing but ants.

At this moment, no one in the crowd dared to even breathe loudly. With such thunderous methods from these peerless powerhouses, speaking up was asking for death. Who would have thought there'd be someone daring enough to kill people right here—and not just anyone, but managers from the Slave Ward itself? Freewind Sect definitely wouldn't let this slide.

Evan then burned away the iron chains on Fairy Lynn's feet as well. The divine fire was tyrannical, but it didn't harm her in the slightest. Blue-Shade God-Venerable, standing to the side, couldn't help but admire Evan's control over divine fire. He knew it was all thanks to Evan cultivating Ninefold Stellar Transformation.

"It's done. Lynn, you don't need to be afraid anymore. No one here dares to hurt you now!" Evan said.

"Lin Feng, I honestly thought I was dreaming when I saw you again. But this dream turned out to be real. Before you undo my disguise, there's still someone you have to save. If I'm right, she should also be here. We were captured together back then," Fairy Lynn said.

Hearing this, Evan's heart gave a jolt. "Lynn, who else? Is it Luna, Roxanne, or Yvonne?" he asked urgently. This news was simply too important to him.

"It's Selena! She ascended to the God Realm with me. Go look—she should be here!" Fairy Lynn said.

Evan trembled all over—he really hadn't expected it to be Selena. He could still vividly recall the pain Selena suffered in the Demonic Realm; he'd fought for ages against demon powerhouses just to get the Soul Mushroom, nearly dying in the process. Now, after ascending to the God Realm, she'd been forced to suffer all over again. He truly owed them far too much.

But he quickly steadied his emotions and said, "I understand. Wait here for me—I'll go find Selena right now!"

Evan already knew where Selena was. When he walked in, he’d glimpsed a woman with familiar eyes—he hadn’t expected those eyes to be Selena’s. If he’d realized sooner, maybe Lynn wouldn’t have been hurt. The regret gnawed at him.

Blue-Shade, look after Lynn for me. If anyone dares act up, kill them—no mercy, even if the Freewind Sect Master comes himself! Turning my women into slaves—this is something I absolutely cannot endure. I’ll settle this debt with Freewind Sect, if not today, then someday. This humiliation will not go unanswered.

In a flash, Evan appeared before the cage holding the women. With a sweeping motion, a torrent of divine fire burst from his palm, instantly burning the golden lock into molten iron.

"Sel, I’m sorry—your husband came too late!" Evan’s voice choked with emotion. He knew, without a doubt, that the woman inside was Selena—his beloved Sel.

As soon as Evan called out Sel’s name, a female slave trembled all over, unable to help herself as she lifted her head to look at him. Evan saw her—Selena, but now so haggard, her eyes lifeless, and worst of all, a long scar ran across her once flawless face. The sight stabbed straight into Evan’s heart.

But just like Lynn, Selena didn’t immediately come to Evan. She watched him quietly—his appearance was different now, but his voice and gaze were unchanged. Deep down, she knew: this was the man she’d longed for day and night.

If it weren’t for the scar on her face, Selena would have thrown herself into his arms without hesitation. Countless nights she’d dreamed of seeing him again, but now that he stood before her, she found herself paralyzed by shame. Who could possibly understand such bitter heartbreak?

Evan saw Selena hesitating and his heart clenched. "Sel, have you really become someone who only cares about appearances? Don’t you trust me to restore your looks? You’ve suffered so much—it’s my fault. Come out to me!" he called, voice hot-blooded and urgent.

Evan’s words hit Selena like a flood—her tears spilled uncontrollably as all her pent-up pain and grievance burst out. She rushed toward Evan, but the chains binding her nearly made her stumble and fall.

At that moment, Evan’s heart felt as if it had been shattered—his two women had ascended to the God Realm only to suffer such torment. He couldn’t swallow this humiliation. Hugging Selena tightly, he choked out, "It’s over, it’s all over! From now on, we’ll never be separated again!"
