Chapter 940: Score Changes

The crystal pen moved without the slightest pause, as if it required no thought at all.

After repairing the Alchemical Array, Leon took out the Spellbook of Ages. A surge of flame appeared atop the tome, and in an instant, it transformed into a blazing inferno.

Leon reached into the flames and grasped an ancient-looking staff. The fire clung to the staff’s tip, where endless runes spun and danced.

This was another form of the Spellbook of Ages—the Blazing Wrath Staff!

Gripping the Blazing Wrath Staff, Leon drove it into the center of the massive Alchemical Array.

In an instant, the winds and clouds shifted. Endless clouds gathered in the sky, forming a gigantic vortex. A beam of light shot down from the vortex’s center, striking the heart of the Alchemical Array.

In that moment, the Alchemical Array was fully activated.

The light beam twisted and condensed, becoming a circular portal over ten meters wide. The portal expanded rapidly, and within seconds, it grew into a massive gateway over fifty meters tall. Its outer rim glowed with white light, while the central forty meters shimmered with a deep, starry membrane, radiating streams of spatial energy.

Simply standing there, the enormous teleportation gate sent ripples of spatial energy spreading outward in every direction.

This is one of the reasons why Sunset Fortress is so crucial—because it stands as the site of a massive teleportation gate that can connect nearly the entire Blazeforge Realm.

Once activated, anyone with the coordinates here can set up a teleportation array anywhere in the Blazeforge Realm and travel straight to Sunset Fortress.

This means the gates to the Blazeforge Realm Heartland have been thrown wide open. Greendale’s armies can arrive here in moments and launch an assault deep into the Blazeforge Orcs’ territory. The orcs have lost all hope of reclaiming Sunset Fortress.

The key to this massive portal is none other than the Blazing Wrath Staff, the transformed Spellbook of Ages—an artifact established by the Blazeforge Emperor himself.

The Blazing Wrath Staff isn’t just the key to the portal; it’s also its most vital component. Without it, even a Saint-ranked Alchemist couldn’t activate the gate.

With the portal active, Cloudspire Tower and Black Tower wasted no time, leading their legions into the heartland of the Blazeforge Realm.

Leon brought out the Mage Legion, Reina, and Hubert from the demi-plane, with the Alchemical Golem Army close behind.

The three major factions split into three columns, charging into the Blazeforge Realm Heartland. Meanwhile, other forces from Greendale would soon arrive at Sunset Fortress to join the offensive.

At this moment, whoever seized the initiative would gain far greater opportunities than before.

Leon’s legion advanced relentlessly, barely pausing. Any Blazeforge Orcs they encountered didn’t even warrant a mage’s attack—the Alchemical Golem Army unleashed terrifying combat power on its own.

In the previous battles, some of the Alchemical Golem Army had been completely disabled, but nearly eight hundred remained.

These alchemical golems were all standard models—their combat power was average compared to others of their rank.

If an alchemical golem fought alone against a mage of equal rank, it would rarely win. After all, golems operate on programmed combat routines, lacking a mage’s flexibility. One-on-one, most would lose to a mage, especially these standard models.

But when you have hundreds of alchemical golems, it becomes a terrifying golem tide. With no vital points, as long as they can still fight, any damage is basically negligible.

Hundreds of Bladewalker Alchemical Golems swept through like a metal storm—no orc formation could withstand it.

And the remaining Spellcaster Alchemical Golems unleashed a relentless barrage of magic, flooding the battlefield with raw, brute-force spells that washed away every obstacle.

After sweeping through several orc fortresses, Leon’s score skyrocketed—several times higher than before.

Keep in mind, this was already deep within Blazeforge Orc territory. The strength of these fortresses was nothing like those outside Sunset Fortress.

Sunset Fortress was like a border crossing; the orcs in the heartland lived as if in a metropolis, while those outside the gates were just suburban dwellers.

Radiance Fortress, for the Blazeforge Orcs, was even more remote—a place at the very edge of their world.

Capturing outlying strongholds and fighting deep in the city are worlds apart. In a real campaign, the difference is enormous—so the score multiplier skyrockets.

After more than ten days of nonstop assault, Leon’s score shot from nearly zero to the top ten on the leaderboard.

The rankings displayed in the Crystal Orb had shifted.

Of the top ten, seven were factions of the Odin Kingdom. The Andalusia Kingdom—counting Leon—only held three spots.

Cloudspire Tower ranked third, Black Tower fifth, and Leon had just broken into tenth place.

From the scores, it was clear Cloudspire Tower’s reinforcements were stronger than Black Tower’s.

Especially Cloudspire Tower’s Sky Rank powerhouse, Butler—his strength might even surpass Dubois Charles of Black Tower, at least when it comes to racking up points.

Still, seven of the top ten were Odin Kingdom factions!

First and second place belonged to the Odin Kingdom. Even the gap between Dunespire Tower and Cloudspire Tower in fourth place was razor-thin—their ranks kept swapping. The top three were all Odin Kingdom factions!

Unexpectedly, first place wasn’t Burning Tower—it was Skyhold Fortress.
