Crisis on Genius Star

2/14/2026

Evan Yang took out a Mind-Veil Pill and made Patriarch Fenn swallow it on the spot.

Naturally, Patriarch Fenn fell under its effect; whatever Evan asked, he answered. Evan’s greatest concern was the solution to the side-effects.

After hearing Patriarch Fenn's answer, Evan was a bit shocked.

Because, simply put, the method was to abandon the original body and move to a new one—either by body-seizing or by remolding a new body.

"Might as well have said nothing." Evan was a bit angry, but this wasn’t the time to get upset—he had to figure out the method for remolding.

Remolding, as the name implies, means recreating a body from scratch. The required materials are extremely hard to find—if Evan wanted to gather them all, it would take years.

Sitting across from the entranced Patriarch Fenn, Evan muttered, "If I’d known it was like this, what’s the point of capturing you?"

At this moment, Evan almost wanted to kill Patriarch Fenn on the spot.

"Is there really no other way?" Evan asked.

"There is." Patriarch Fenn replied.

"There is? What method? Why didn’t you just say it all at once?" Evan said, both angry and delighted.

"You didn’t ask." Patriarch Fenn replied mechanically, answering every question Evan asked.

"Speak." Evan demanded.

"Hundred-Bloom Palace’s core treasure, the Pearl-Glow Orb, can cleanse all side-effects." Patriarch Fenn answered.

Evan frowned—so Hundred-Bloom Palace had such a treasure. Still, this was much better than before: at least there was a chance to seize the palace-suppressing orb, while remolding was still a distant hope, since finding the necessary materials was a whole other problem.

"Do you know where the palace-suppressing treasure is?" Evan asked.

"It’s in the hands of Blossom Fay, the Hundred-Bloom Palace Lord." Patriarch Fenn answered.

"Where is she now?" Evan asked.

"I don’t know." Patriarch Fenn replied.

Evan realized Patriarch Fenn genuinely didn’t know, so he woke him up. As soon as Patriarch Fenn regained consciousness, his first words were a curse: "You—"

"Got it. Thanks." Evan sneered, then left, letting Patriarch Fenn fend for himself.

But suddenly, something changed—an explosive aura erupted from Patriarch Fenn’s body.

"You—" Evan hadn’t expected that even with Patriarch Fenn sealed, he could still sense such a terrifying shift in his aura.

"Kid, you won’t escape. Once I break free, it’ll be your death!" Patriarch Fenn snorted coldly.

Evan had never failed with this seal before. Now, even though Patriarch Fenn couldn’t move, his aura kept swelling.

"Is it exceeding?" Evan realized there was only one possibility: the seal he’d placed was right at the limit of suppressing Patriarch Fenn’s power.

If Patriarch Fenn’s power increased any further, he could break out. After all, Evan’s seal depended on his own cultivation; he finally realized that the seal wasn’t foolproof—it only worked if their strength was close.

Now, Patriarch Fenn was clearly unleashing his power. Evan had no idea when he’d break free—the only option was to kill him before he did.

So Evan punched him. Patriarch Fenn was sent flying, his power fully unleashed in that instant. He crawled up from not far away, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

"Kid, you’re dead." Patriarch Fenn could move now.

Evan exclaimed, "You were suppressing your own power?"

"That’s right. I only unlocked a few realms just now. This secret’s yours alone, thanks to you forcing me, kid. What’s your connection to Evan Yang—where is he now?" Patriarch Fenn stepped forward, still wounded from earlier attacks and the old poisoner’s injury.

Even so, his aura remained terrifying. Evan knew a direct clash would end badly, so he just laughed: "Want to know? That depends on whether you can catch me."

At this point, Evan could only try to shake him off—if Fenn recovered even a bit, Evan wouldn’t be able to resist, especially since his beast transformation had just worn off.

So Evan darted away. Seeing this, Patriarch Fenn also flashed after him.

Every time Patriarch Fenn was about to catch Evan, Evan vanished again. It showed that the heavily injured Fenn’s speed was about equal to Evan’s peak.

Frustrated, Patriarch Fenn kept chasing. Evan dared not relax, speeding up madly until he finally shook Fenn off and quickly found a place to enter his tower.

When Patriarch Fenn appeared again, Evan was gone. "Damn, he got away."

Actually, Evan’s tower was hidden nearby in the mud—Patriarch Fenn just hadn’t noticed.

Unable to find Evan even with his divine sense, Patriarch Fenn could only return angrily to the Fenn estate. By now, the Ninefold Palace Lord was already back, and seeing Fenn badly wounded, he asked curiously, "Why are you just now returning?"

Evan roughly estimated that at least twenty or thirty Shadow-God Realm experts had already left Hundred-Bloom Palace, destination unknown.

“Looks like things are heating up,” Evan muttered, his eyes narrowing as he watched the stream of powerful cultivators leaving the palace.

He glanced around the city, thinking, "If they're mobilizing this many experts, it must be for something big—maybe the showdown on Genius Star, or maybe they’re hunting me."

Evan didn’t dare act rashly. He stayed hidden, quietly observing the palace from afar, waiting for a chance to slip inside.

Meanwhile, inside Hundred-Bloom Palace, Blossom Fay gathered the remaining palace lords and senior clan members for an urgent meeting.

She announced, “The Three Palaces and the great clans are about to make their move. We must be ready for anything.”

The atmosphere grew tense. Everyone could sense that a storm was brewing in the star system.

Evan weighed his options. If he tried to sneak in now, he’d risk running straight into a trap.

He decided to wait. With so many experts out on patrol, the palace defenses might be weaker than usual.

If he wanted the Pearl-Glow Orb, he would have to find the right moment—when Blossom Fay was distracted, and the guards were thinned out.
