Chapter 1221

Redman wore a solemn expression as he held a crystal rune in his palm, advancing deeper into the ancestral grounds.

There were still patches of thin mist shrouding certain areas within, and the deeper Leon ventured, the more he sensed the stability of the space intensifying.

The more stable the space, the harder it was to shake—but if disturbed, the destruction would be far greater. In places like this, even a hair-thin spatial fissure could instantly annihilate a Sky Rank mage.

If space trembled, the damage to a mage would rival that of a wide-area transcendent spell. If space shattered, even someone as physically robust as Blackman, the battle mage, could perish here.

Likewise, the more stable the space, the greater the pressure—not like gravity, but more like wading deeper into the ocean, with pressure mounting from all directions.

After walking for over ten minutes, Leon's magical shield activated on its own—the pressure here had grown strong enough to threaten him. Even the air felt difficult to breathe, and the elements were harder to control.

As Leon moved through the thin layers of mist, the questions swirling in his mind only multiplied.

The runes within the mist were clearly high-level rule runes, and deeper within, some runes were so arcane that Leon couldn't even begin to decipher them.

Unlike the runes in the Mistveil Layer, which stood like mountains, focused on suppression and stability, the runes here felt more like the depths of the sea.
