Arrogant and Overbearing

Evan Chu’s latest stunt left all the heroes of Azure Tide Ruins absolutely dumbfounded. A kid barely grown dared to challenge the sect masters of the Nine Great Sects—those are true Saint Martial Realm powerhouses! Isn’t this just asking to get killed?

"Is he nuts or what? That Mad Young Lord nickname really fits him! Challenging a Saint Martial expert like that is just insane—gotta respect him for it!" someone in the crowd blurted.

Lynne Nie stared at Evan Chu, full of doubt. She just couldn’t figure out why he’d do something so stupid. Everyone knew Mist Rain Pavilion’s master was Third-Layer Saint Martial. No matter how strong Evan was, he was only Ninth-Layer Divine Martial—in front of a Saint Martial expert, he was basically an ant.

This was straight-up suicide. She really wanted to ask him why, but with their relationship just normal friends, she couldn’t bring herself to speak up in front of everyone. All she could do was keep it bottled up.

Selena Yale was cursing Evan Chu a thousand times over in her heart. ‘Evan Chu, you idiot! How could you say something so outrageously arrogant? Do you really think a Saint Martial powerhouse is someone a Divine Martial can compare to? I just finally got to see you again, and now you pull this stunt—what about our child? You bastard, you’re such trouble!’

If her veil hadn’t hidden her face, the other sect masters would’ve seen her worry for sure. That’s how panicked she really was inside.

Even the Freewind Palace Lord thought Evan Chu was being way too reckless. Sure, Evan could fight a First-Layer Saint Martial, but that’s just one layer. Mist Rain Pavilion’s master had been at Third-Layer Saint Martial for years—who knows if he’s already broken through to the fourth.

Taking on a master like that is like an egg smashing into a rock—pure suicide. What a waste of such a promising talent. Evan’s edge was too sharp, and he was too impatient for results. That’s exactly why Mist Rain Pavilion’s master caught him slipping.

Serena Dream’s face was unreadable, but inside, disappointment gnawed at her. The Freewind Palace Lord had already told her Evan’s real identity, and about her own special constitution. She’d been preparing to accept this arrogant guy, but when he got sucked into the spatial black hole, her feelings crashed and she stopped thinking about him.

But now, with his sudden return, those buried feelings started to grow again—she was slowly ready to accept his pursuit. Yet just as things were looking up, his crazy move was like a storm that battered her fragile new hopes.

Everyone was worried Evan Chu was just courting death. But there was one exception: Damien Noctis, the Black Night Youth from Dark Sanctuary. He saw wild arrogance in Evan’s eyes—and he knew Evan might actually have the power to kill his opponent.

This tournament had lost all suspense. Evan Chu could one-shot anyone in the top ten—nobody wanted to face him now. All that’s left are fights for second and third place.

Evan could only feel helpless about how things turned out, and even Marcus Blake had to accept it. If you’re gutsy enough to challenge a Saint Martial master, you’re on another level. The title ‘Mad Young Lord’ was now spreading across the entire Azure Tide Ruins.

At the same time, people were finally starting to accept that Evan really was Frostbane Sect’s master. Still, in everyone’s eyes, Frostbane was just second-rate—unless Evan could actually slay Mist Rain Pavilion’s master and take the sect to the top tier.

Next up were matches among the top eight—Lynne Nie, Marcus Blake, and the rest. Evan had once promised the Freewind Palace Lord to let Marcus take first place, but after everything that happened, that deal was off.

At that moment, Evan Chu walked up to Selena Yale and said, "Sister Selena, have you been well lately?"

That simple greeting threw the always-composed Selena Yale into chaos. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Evan, why are you doing something so stupid? Have you thought about how I feel? Have you thought about our—"

Evan knew she was talking about their child, so he smiled and said, "Sister Selena, do you really think I’m that dumb? You know how I do things—I never go in unless I’m sure. Even if he’s Fourth-Layer Saint Martial, I’ve got at least a fifty-fifty chance to take him down."

"I’m not the same as before. Don’t worry so much. For you, for our child, I swear I’ll stay alive and kicking."

Tears streamed down Selena Yale’s face. If nobody else were here, she’d throw herself into Evan’s arms and cry her heart out—and maybe kiss him right then. But now wasn’t the time. Still, with Evan’s promise, her worries finally began to ease.

She couldn’t figure out how Evan Chu’s power had grown so insanely fast—it was just plain defying the heavens. Then she remembered he was Lord Frostbane reborn, and suddenly it all made sense. Contradictions within contradictions.

Evan then walked over to Serena Dream and declared, "Once I kill Mist Rain Pavilion’s master, I expect you to become my woman—the main lady of Frostbane Sect. You don’t get a choice—you have to agree!"

Serena Dream was stunned by his domineering words. She looked at this legendary youth, confused, and said, "If you somehow survive, then we’ll talk. That’s all I can promise."

"Good, that’s enough for me. Just wait—I’ll prove myself to you!" Evan laughed, then walked away.

Then he walked up to Lynne Nie and said loudly, "The day Serena Dream puts on her bridal dress will be the day you do too. Make sure you look beautiful, because in my eyes you’re even prettier than Serena!"

Except for his private words to Selena Yale, Evan said everything loud enough for everyone to hear—once again showing off just how crazy and domineering he was.

Lynne Nie was shocked, but her face lit up with joy as she said, "But you’re about to challenge one of Azure Tide Ruins’ true powerhouses. I’m really worried—really scared!"

"What’s there to be afraid of? If your man was a coward, how could he be worthy of you? Just get your bridal dress ready. But you’d better convince Serena first—if she doesn’t agree, neither can you. I told you that before." Evan said.

Lynne Nie nodded. "Just be careful. I’ll work hard for my own happiness!"

At this point, Marcus Blake’s face was dark as iron. Everyone knew about Serena Dream’s connection to him, but Evan’s words pushed him past his limit. He roared, "Evan Chu, don’t get ahead of yourself! If you want Serena, you’ll have to get past me first. My woman isn’t someone you can touch!"
