At Your Service, Sir

Highland Hotel, twentieth-floor dining hall.

Linda Chen led the delicate and petite Lucy Han, greeting each table in turn, occasionally sitting beside relatives and friends with a gentle smile.

Lucy pouted, clinging to her mother's side.

Almost four years old, she was somewhat shy, especially with the loud voices of these uncles and aunts, which made Lucy uncomfortable. Her little eyes no longer looked toward the food with longing.

At that moment.

A middle-aged man with a square face, commanding yet not angry, glanced at Lucy Han with interest flickering in his eyes.

"Linda Chen, how old is this child?" he asked with a faint smile.

"She's a little over three," Linda Chen replied.

This middle-aged man was Robert Wen, the major supplier for their family business. Rumor had it his annual revenue reached tens of millions, with net profits of at least two million.

His status, in particular, was anything but ordinary.

He had a cousin who held an important position in a government department.

Thinking of this, Linda Chen couldn't help but pat Lucy's head, but said nothing.

She never forced her daughter to greet strangers. Many were mere acquaintances—why should a child be made to greet them? Not knowing how to greet isn’t a fault; it’s a sign of commendable caution.

Yet—

Lucy pursed her lips, then timidly said, "Hello, Uncle."

Robert Wen laughed heartily, eyeing her with interest. Ignoring Lucy's reluctance, he reached out and pinched her fair cheek. "Children have such good skin, and she’s quite pretty. My son is about four or five—maybe they can play together someday."

Linda Chen frowned, displeased, but managed to respond politely.

As a mother, she understood every thought Lucy Han had, and deeply disliked Robert Wen’s careless behavior. Even with children, basic respect should always be shown.

But—

In society, there are endless unwritten rules—face, favors, and relationships must be considered. If she scolded Robert Wen in public, their supply channels could be cut off. How would she handle that?
