I Came to Take Back My Egg

1/4/2026

Lucia Lu only now realized that Darren Xuan’s divine power was no weaker than her own—and his willpower was just as fierce.

After several rounds, the two were evenly matched, gradually ramping up to their full strength.

One zither, one flute.

One urgent, one slow.

One attacks, one defends.

To insiders, it was blades flashing in the dark—danger at every turn.

But to outsiders, untouched by divine power, it sounded like a duet—actually pretty nice to listen to.

Take Princess Quinn Xiao, for example: she watched Darren in his red robes, long hair drifting as if caught by an invisible wind, his focused expression impossibly captivating.

And then there was Lucia Lu, dressed in blue, ethereal and breathtaking.

The more Princess Quinn Xiao watched, the more she thought they looked perfect together—and the more annoyed she got. She blurted out, "What are they even doing? Can you really decide a winner by playing music? Just hurry up and fight already!"

Everyone glanced at her, then said nothing.

No one knew what to say.

When Lucia Lu received Entwined Heart, she also got an ancient musical score.

The score was so obscure and difficult that, up till now, she’d only managed to learn half of the first section.

Seeing that things were at a stalemate, Lucia switched to that half-learned melody.

Entwined Heart’s power surged—one sonic attack shattered his defenses, Flowglow Zither rang out with a sharp 'clang,' and Darren Xuan stiffened, stopping in place.

If Lucia had pressed her advantage right then, she could have shattered his Soul Core in the next second and taken his life.

Of course, she wasn’t about to do that.

She put away her flute as well.

Darren Xuan shook his head, put away his zither, and bowed. "Divine Lady Lucia, I concede!"

Lucia Lu: "Thank you for letting me win."

"Your final melody was truly profound," Darren Xuan said. "I’ve never seen a score like that before."

Lucia Lu smiled, "I’m just showing off in front of a master, really."

"Oh, Divine Lady Lucia, don’t be so modest!" His Majesty the Celestial Emperor beamed. "Come on, all four captains, step up! Time to draw lots and split the teams…"

...

In the end, they split into four teams—each with twelve members, captains included.

Lucia Lu’s squad included Ryan Lu, Little Wu, and others.

And Princess Quinn Xiao.

Headache incoming.

She tried to look on the bright side: at least Jenna Summers wasn’t in her group. If those two were together, she’d really have a migraine!

Adrian Drake happily ended up with Sean Shaw, practically floating along beside his Little Five.

That evening, Sean Shaw came to see her.

Lucia had fought several matches, barely managing to rescue herself from the devastating impact of his looks and keep her head clear.

But as soon as she opened the door, there he was—smiling again.

Not just smiling—he’d even changed clothes.

He wore a red-on-black embroidered Divine Robe, crisp and spotless, eyes full of warmth, lips curled in a smile.

Lucia Lu froze up again, finally managing to speak after a long pause: "Fifth Highness, you’re out of seclusion already?"

Sean Shaw: "Mm."

"Did you come for... me, or Little Wu?"

"You."

"Oh... Is something up?"

"I’ve come to take back my Flower Egg," Sean said. "Could you hand it over?"

"Egg? The egg... you really want it back?"

"Mm."

"Last time I went home, I was worried no one here would water it, so I took it back to Peach Blossom Haven," Lucia explained. "And then... I just didn’t bring it back."

Sean didn’t say anything, but his smile slowly faded. He asked, "Did you forget to bring it, or did you choose not to?"

Lucia explained, "I really think it’ll grow better at my family’s place. Plus, with His Majesty the Celestial Emperor likely to send us out on missions all the time, it’d be hard to take care of it here. So I just left it there."
